MSI tech support sent me BIOS 7.3 version for the MSI Pro X58.  Doing the upgrade from 7.1 to 7.3 will kill the RAID config.  Seems like JBOD is missing as an RAID option in 7.3. In 7.1 I had a single drive JBOD as my boot drive and 5x500GB drives in RAID-0.  The RAID 0 drive was not accessible under 7.3 and I had to recreate and restore.  the JOB drive was accessible as a non-RAID Drive.

What was the specific issue prompting the bios flash from 7.1 to 7.3? Have you contacted Tech. Support again as to JBOD missing in 7.3? Reflash to 7.1 is always an option.

I just updated mine from 7.1 to 7.3. No proble like that. Once the bios is updated, I did load optimized, then do RAID mode. I have a disk set up as boot disk, and two drives as RAID 0. Works.

I have X58 Pro with bios 7.1 and get occasional spontaneous reboots, and have upgraded power supply but still occurs.
6gb ddr3 ram (intel burn test ran fine)
CPU temp around 22C, IOH around 65C
Running Windows 7 64 bit
Core i7 920

Support suggests upgrading bios to 7.3 but I'm concerned about losing my data (raid 1 with 2 640gb drives).
Their last reply said to upgrade the bios from dos, first disconnect my hard drives, then reconfigure for raid 1.
Will this work and is it the best way?

I do have a full backup but don't really want to test Windows 7 recovery if I don't have to.

Hi twiddly, & welcome to the forum.:welcome:  This thread is over a month old now. It is best if you would start a brand new thread addressing your issues. To best help you, a full list of your system components & specs should be provided. Many problems are RAM related, so be sure & be detailed describing them.
