I’ve got an 990 Samsung evo popped into Slot 2 and successfully installed Linux on it, I can boot to it by pressing F11 at boot and selecting it, it’s displayed as limine boot loader but I want to make this my primary boot selection since limine lists all options, (windows 11 on ssd slot 1 Sandisk 5100 1TB , and chachyos in slot 2 on the Samsung 980 1TB .) But when I go into BIOS M2.1 is the only one listed under boot unless I go into the section labeled override, it’s listed there as Limine as well.

I have no idea how this motherboard works with Linux, but keep in mind that the M.2_2 slot shares lanes with USB 4.0. Check the motherboard specifications: "USB 40Gbps Type-C ports on the back panel and M2_2 slot share PCIe 5.0 x4 bandwidth. Both run at PCIe 5.0 x2 when a device is installed in the M2_2 slot. You can switch M2_2 to PCIe 5.0 x4 in the BIOS, but this will disable the USB 40Gbps Type-C ports. The USB4 host controller supports up to PCIe 4.0 x4." here on the website.
If you're using both, they might interfere with each other... They're supposed to work fine at the same time, but who knows if that's actually true...

Go to BIOS Setup menu > Settings > Boot, select "UEFI Hard Disk Drive BBS Priorities", then system will list all bootable UEFI HDD drive in it.
The BIOS Boot order only shows the first Boot Option #1 under this submenu.

If your Linux OS boot loader is listed in under the "UEFI Hard Disk Drive BBS Priorities", set it as the Boot Option #1.

I prefer slot 1-4-3 and never 2. Unless it's really needed ofcourse. But in that order. Besides, slot 1 and 4 are the easiest to get the heatsink off. On this board that is.
And as mentioned, slot 2 shares lanes, so avoid if possible.
