X870 Tomahawk stuttering on new BIOS version

Hello,

On the latest BIOS (7E51v1A24), my system stutters when I do something that puts a slight load on the CPU. For example, when I open a browser or scroll through a page, the mouse cursor briefly lags, and the music starts stuttering.

The same issue occurred on version 7E51v1A1F.
The last version where this problem does not exist is 7E51v1A1A.

It seems that this happens after waking up from sleep, but not after a cold start or restart.

I never had any of the abovementioned issues on the past 3 BIOS builds, now I'm on the most recent one (7E51v1A24) and it's pretty much flawless except for a bug regarding memory context restore (basically enabling the feature and EXPO at the same time makes your custom RAM timings not save, so you need to disable memory context restore in order for custom RAM timings to be properly saved).

With regard to the "stuttering" issue it might be driver-related, is that happening only after waking up from "sleep" status ??

Update:
This also rarely can happen after a restart.
When this "faulty" start happens, the stutters/freezing appear when opening browser, pages or folders in the file explorer.
I expected that if I ran a CPU or SSD benchmark in this state, the system would freeze completely.
There were a lot of stutters when launching CB24, but surprisingly, putting the CPU or SSD under full load did not cause these stutters in this state.
However, they appear when opening folders, web pages, and similar tasks.

As I already mentioned, this issue does not occur on BIOS version 7E51v1A1A and earlier.

I’m noticing a similar issue. The newer BIOS updates I noticed stuttering in games that I’ve known to never stutter and were not stuttering before upgrading. Rolling back to 7E51v1A2 has eliminated most of the stuttering in games. Haven’t had time to test earlier releases.

I have Gigabyte Z97 from 2014 and it has this exact problem lol. I wouldnt count on swapping the manufacturer.

E: read about this, it seems that MSI boards are missing option to force Gen5 in BIOS, and the Auto option will swap between 1.1, 2.0, 3.0 etc.
But it can be circumvented with nvidia drivers by selecting "prefer maximum performance", then it stays Gen5.

i saw another forum thread that bios 1A31 fixes the stutter issue but the link is for a x870e board. Hoping they release the x870 bios soon.

They just released a beta bios for x870 tomahawk, tested it myself and it did not help, still getting stutter and restarts as pcie gets trapped at 1.1-2.0. Spread spectrum enabled almost entirely fixes it for me, but seems to slowly be getting worse and worse. I worry eventually I’ll just never get a good boot, or that this is all damaging other components? But that’s probably paranoid.

I'm currently running version 7E51v1A44. Over the past few days, I haven't experienced the stuttering issue. I'll post again know if it happens again.
Now there's a new problem: sometimes the LED on the motherboard stops displaying the CPU temperature and just shows 08.
