New build. Latest BIOS installed (because I use iLok for music production). CMOS has been cleared. USB keyboards have been tried in every USB port.

When in the BIOS, it is impossible to enter any numbers. The keyboard is functioning because I can use the arrow keys, ESC, etc. to navigate. But neither the top row of numbers or the number pad work.

A better UX would be to include drop downs with selectable numbers for more fields that have a reasonably finite selection, or even to offer common options with ability to go full manual and enter the number.

I've been using MSI MPG X870E Carbon WIFI motherboard for two days, with the latest beta BIOS version 7E49v1A15. Just a few minutes ago, I was adjusting the memory timings and had no issues manually entering numbers using the top row keys. Are you sure you have the latest beta BIOS version installed?

Thanks. Yes, it's the latest installed - same as you have. I tried two different USB keyboards, one newer, one older. Puzzling. It's a first for me in the decades of building PCs.

Solution
There is a known bug that disable boot device will cause error when you enter number
"The moment I activate all boot sources and restart the system, Auto values are back in place and can successfully enter new values."
Make sure you didn't disable any
You are my hero. Thanks! That was EXACTLY the issue. I'd disabled all but the boot drive.
Enabled every field, rebooted, and now I can enter numbers!
Saved.
