I use a Samsung S23U phone and the type-C connector on the front panel keeps disconnecting and reconnecting.
MSI super charger+ Which devices are supported?
I tried two Samsung phones and a Black Shark phone and both had similar issues.:sick:

As long as your device is PD-compatible, it should work, and max charging watt is 27W.
Don't think the disconnection is related to super charger though, better check with cable or update to latest BIOS.

只要您的裝置相容於 PD,它就應該可以工作,最大充電功率為 27W。
不過,不要認為斷開連接與超級充電器有關,最好檢查電纜或更新到最新的 BIOS。
I have replaced 4 charging cables and 3 mobile phones, but the USB device keeps connecting/disconnecting repeatedly.
It works normally with type-A to C

I have the same issue with Moto Edge+ 2023. Tried cables known to work previously. Connects / disconnects, appears and disappears from File Explorer. MSI, could someone test this out please? You have at least 2 people reporting the same thing.

Double check the connection between the front USB Type-C port and the motherboard USB Type-E port.
If you happen to have a USB Type-E to USB Type-C cable such as below, try to connect it to your motherboard USB Type-E port and test.

Also, have both of you updated BIOS to latest version? Which version is that?

I updated to beta BIOS 7E49v1A15. It has solved a couple of issues, including the one I noted above that I was also experiencing as mentioned by the OP. (Phone connecting and dis-connecting from front port.) It is now solid, and I have tried it with 2 phones. Quick-charging appears to be working. This was a BIOS only change, there was no hardware/connector issues.

FYI: Update to BIOS 15 if you're still on the original 10. The BIOS POST process is WAAAAYYYYY faster; this actually feels like a new PC now. Also, fixes the temperature display in the POST code display.

I have the same issue and the same phone (Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra)

- BIOS 7E49v1A17
- Windows 11 24H2 (fresh install + all updates)
- Latest chipset driver 6.07.22.037 from AMD
- MSI Super Charger installed (I did not have installed this app before I've encountered this issue for the first time)
- Double checked the JUSBC1 connection (I have the Fractal Design Define 7 XL case)

The front USB-C port still keeps disconnecting and reconnecting when I connect my phone.

The cable is functional (tested on my laptop).
The front USB-C port worked perfectly fine with my previous motherboard (B550 Gaming Edge Wifi).

Ironically, I wanted to upload a picture for the new MSI promotion and this is the first time I was using the USB-C port.

Please help :(

Quick edit: I have connected my game controller (Vader 3 Pro) via the USB-C Port with the same cable I am using with my phone and the device works without disconnecting. So this issue seems only affecting some (specific android) phone models.

This won't happen when the battery charge is higher. The same situation occurs when the battery drops below around 60%.

I can confirm this. When my phone's battery is at 80%, the disconnecting/reconnecting issue disappears. It only occurs when the battery level drops to a lower percentage, such as around 60% or below. Could someone from MSI please look into this?

Can you tell more info:
Which phone been tested besides [Samsung S23U and MOTO Edge+ 2023]?
(So far been tested Type-C charging with Samsung A8 & Sony Xperia XZ3 mobile phone without problem)

And can you tell what’s the charging rate (watt/voltage/current) in MSI Center?

I have taken a screenshot (see attachment) because it’s very difficult to document the issue in writing. The phone disconnects after just a few seconds. Essentially, the power draw starts at around 0.1 watts and gradually increases to approximately 29 watts. At that point, the phone disconnects and reconnects, and the cycle repeats.

One observation I’ve made is that the phone enters "super charging" mode when connected to this USB-C port. However, I’ve only seen this behavior with devices capable of charging the phone at 45 watts or more.

My assumption is that you haven’t encountered this issue because the devices you’ve tested don’t exceed the 27-watt power limit specified by MSI for this JUSBC1 connector.

I’ve also attempted to find a way to prevent my phone from charging when connected to the USB front header, but Android doesn’t offer such an option without rooting the device perhaps. Once the phone is fully charged, it no longer disconnects.

Mobile phones that support charging of more than 25W are more likely to have this problem, and only when the battery is low will they charge at full speed and then continue to disconnect and reconnect.

It's been tested with Iphone 16 and it can go over 25W without disconnection:

Do you have other phone with fast charge function which can also be tested?

No, I don't own any other phone that has fast charging. I also tried the latest BIOS 7E49v1A1A in the hope that it would fix the issue, but sadly, the result is the same.

Hi, I have the same issue with my MAG x870 Tomahawk Wifi. The PD in the front constantly disconnect my Galaxy tab s7 FE around 25~26W and sometimes I get a power surge warning from windows notification. My phone (Samsung S20 FE) would do the same around 25~26W, but it is smart enough to request 15W after a few failed 27W request.
BIOS ver: 1A1A
Case: Corsair 4000D

If you just want to connect to the pc front usb c without charging, the only way I found is to disable fast charging in the battery option on my android tablet.

Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it! The port still charges my phone, but at least it no longer disconnects, which is good enough for now. Honestly I didn't know that there was an option to disable fast charging in the battery menu. Now I just need to remember to enable it when I'm done... but It's good to know that there's a workaround for this issue.

any of you tried disabling C-state in bios?
are you running expo stock? might have too much/not enough SoC v, at least those are the only times i got disconnects on builds with amd
