I have a samsung 9100 Pro witch runs at 5x4 and has been since I got the board
9800X3D CPU
RTX5070 Ti PCIe 5 in pcie express 1_16
the 9100 pro is in m.2_1 and is connected to the cpu
it will run at 4x4 is I set it to gen4 in the bios
if I set it auto or gen5 it runs at 5x1
the 5070 Ti is running at PCIe 5 no issues
if I move the 9100 to M.2_2 and turn off the usb4 ports ,it's fine at 5x4
but I lose the usb4 ports
I have 2 other m.2's the are 4x4
I changed bios's ,swapped slots ,checked for bent pins(no bent pins)
reseated and tightend cpu socket
the only thing I haven't done is reload windows but I did reinstall the chipset drivers
this board was just sent to me from msi support to replace my other one that the usb4 ports disappeared
they said it was a NEW BOARD ,I not so sure now
any Ideas ?thank you
btw ,other than is issue ,the board works fine
if there was bent pins ,there would be more issues than that

Does it always run at Gen5x1?
Does it happen after cold boot or restart or wake up from sleep?
What is your BIOS version? The latest 7E59v1A80?

He used to always run at 5×4
I got this new board two days ago, but I didn’t pay attention because it seemed like it was OK
But I checked yesterday and all of a sudden I noticed it was at 5X one
It is the latest bios A80
I don’t know when it started happening because I didn’t pay attention and it didn’t check it right away when I got the board

I already did that
But even so it did work before with everything working
I’m wondering if there’s something wrong with the CPU socket
There are no bent pins or something’s wrong
Because M.2_2 works at 5×4, but it works off the chips set. I’m pretty sure.
Anyway, I’m going to try all this when I get home in about an hour
I’m gonna call them up and see what they have to say

Then try another previous BIOS version with which you had no problem with the lines, maybe the controller is half dead for M.2_1. Yes, it is connected to the CPU, but despite everything, it has a controller and for that you can rightly doubt the MOBO.
