I have been helping my friend put together a system using parts he selected out.

The issue we have been running into is that his X870E Godlike is having memory compatibility issues. All the memory kits we have tried are all on the QVL. MSI support has even checked his board out and they said all is fine. The next step is they have offered to swap out his board completely with another X870E Godlike.

We tested all the memory modules using both 9800X3D and 9950X3D with the most recent bios and chipset drivers.

GPU: Geforce 980Ti (temporary card)
PSU: Asus Thor 1600 Watt
Cooling: Corsair iCUE Link Titan 360 RX

The last 3 sets in the list were all verified to be working in EXPO at their respective MTs and timings on my PC (7800X3D on Asus ROG Strix X670E).

Does anyone have any information or recommendations on how to resolve this issue? I'm just at a complete loss.

Memory list:

(2) sets of Corsair Vengeance RGB 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5-5600 PC5-44800 CL36 Dual Channel Kit CMH32GX5M2B5600C36WK
Works (memory from my PC) using A-XMP
Stable with Prime95 Large FFT running 30 minutes

(2) sets of Corsair Vengeance RGB 64GB (2 x 32GB) DDR5-6000 PC5-48000 CL30 Dual Channel Kit CMH64GX5M2B6000Z30
Only working on EXPO with two sticks
Four sticks won't work on EXPO or manual settings - system won't even boot, Dynamic Dash says CPU/Memory error
Four sticks won't work at 5600 MTs and manual timings - system won't even boot, Dynamic Dash says CPU/Memory error
Prime95 - Large FFT, multiple worker failures after a few seconds

(2) sets of Corsair Dominator Titanium RGB 96GB (2 x 48GB) DDR5-6600 PC5-52800 CL32 Dual Channel Kit CMP96GX5M2B6600C32W
Only working on EXPO with two sticks

it's not a problem with the motherboard, the problem is that you're running 4 dimm ram. basically expo or xmp is just a pre-overclocked profile and to run 4 dimm you have to be very lucky. one more thing, can you run 4 dimm ram on your 78x3d and x670e?

Yes my own system with the 7800X3D on a X670E runs 4 DIMM in EXPO on the Vengeance 5600 64GB 4x16 and the Dominator Titanium 6000 128GB 4x32 sets.

His X870E Godlike won't run any of the 4 sets in 4-by.

That's normal.
Those EXPO profiles have been designed and tested for a kit of 2 modules only.
Running 2 memory kits will invalidate the EXPO profile.
And it's a bad idea anyway because those 2 kits are not factory matched, in other words: 2 x 2 x 16GB is not the same thing with 4 x 16GB.

I managed to run 4x sticks 192G but at 5600mt cl42. Not as expo tho. Hopefully this week I can push tighter CL or even 6000mt if I have the time.

This the kit I used; F5-6000J2836F48GX2-TR5NG

Prior, I used 2x kits of CMP64GX5M2B6600Z30 and its was purely waste of time could even have stable run at 3800mt.

My advice to you is to stay away from Corsair, get the lowest possible CL you can put your hand on, gives you a lot of head room to play with 4 stick and achieve high mt but slower CL.
gSkill have cl26 and 28 options.

as you can see, with 2 kits 4-dimms ram kits, only 1 runs at 6000 speed. I'm not sure if they are stable. running expo 4 dimm with bus 6000 requires luck. i have encountered cases where it ran expo bus 6000 for a while then dropped to jedec

Well my friend returned his Dominator Titanium 6000s because he was still having the issue. He ultimately decided to just settle on the white Titaniums 96GB set and return the other 96GB.

As for being lucky to run 4x16GB on my own personal rig (9800X3D now on an Asus X670E-A Strix gaming board), i'll gladly post screenshots of it running the Vengeance at its rated speeds/timings of 5600 CL36-36-36-78 with Prime95 running.

Anyone have any updates on this?

I have an 870E godlike and i cannot even get two sticks from the QVL to boot from XMP profile. Latest BIOS has been loaded.

I originally purchased 2 packs of CMP96GX5M2B6600C32.

It’s insane that not even a pair can load XMP and ive been told by MSI support this is a memory issue, not a motherboard issue.

At this point im contemplating asking for a full refund and going a different brand board. I didnt pay 2500AUD to be a beta tester..

Were you able to get two CMP96GX5M2B6600C32 working in XMP?
