I recently purchased an Intel 5930k which required me to also get an X99 motherboard and DDR 4 RAM. I had to RMA the board because it wouldn't recognize RAM (which worked in other DIMM slots) in DIMM 3 and DIMM4. I found it kind of odd because that means that essentially the board was not responding to channel 3 of my CPU. When I removed the CPU for the RMA, I did not see any bent pins in either the CPU or the LGA 2011-3 socket. I updated the Bios to the release from 2014-11-06.

Here is my list. What do you think I should do while waiting for my new board? A lot of people seem to be having issues with RAM not being identified in this board. I'm worried I'll get the new board and take the hours to set it up again only to find that the BIOS do not support this setup.

Intel i7 5930k
Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB Kit (4GBx4) DDR4 2400
Corsair H100i water cooler
Gigabyte GTX 970 G1
Coolmax 700 W PSU
Carbide 300R Windowed Case

Well you can't do anything right now since you don't have the board. Wait until you get it and see what's going on then.

I received the replacement motherboard, and it was able to read RAM in all 4 channels.  After inserting each chip, I booted to ensure that it was recognized. I did my best to boot when adding new components to make sure that they were put in properly. I'm very happy that this board works and would recommend it to others. My takeaway is that sometimes you lose the lottery and get a bad component.  :)
