Can someone please advise if the following memory is compatible with the X-Power Big Bang?  It is not documented as compatible.

G.SKILL Trident+ Turbulence II 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7T-12GBTDD
DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Timing 7-8-7-24 Cas Latency 7 Cas Latency: 7
Voltage: 1.65V
Multi-channel Kit: Triple Channel Kit
Timing: 7-8-7-24
Model #: F3-12800CL7T-12GBTDD
Item #: N82E16820231381

Thanks in advance.

Please consider purchasing Crucial instead.  There's so many issues with GSkill RAM on this forum.  Reduce your life stress and go with a better brand!  Crucial #1, Corsair #2.

Problem with Crucial is that the only 3x4GB that I know of are ECC kits for servers. 12GB of Crucial would require two 3x2GB kits.

I also considered:

CORSAIR DOMINATOR 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMP12GX3M3A1600C9
Capacity 12GB (3 x 4GB)
Speed DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
Cas Latency 9
Timing 9-9-9-24
Voltage 1.65V
Multi-channel Kit Triple Channel Kit

But the Cas Latency is greater than the G.Skill (7 vs 9)

I looked into Crucil and could not find 3x4GB (12 total) as per what Henry says.  If I go with the above Corsair, my problems will be less as will my speed, correct?  :crying:

There is no guarantee of that. The probability is good though.
But before you go and spend money on another 12GB, please post your CPU-Z memory and SPD tab screenshots first and then we can provide advice from there.
The on-die memory controller on the CPU is 1066 and considering that you are trying to address 12GB of RAM, lowering your memory frequency may solve the problem.

This is a new build and therefore I do not have any further data to show.  This is what my system will comprise of however:

1) DDR3-1600 CAS=7 does not exist.
These memory modules use overclocked, overvolted & undertimed DDR3-1333 chips.
Stay away from this kind of memory modules.

2) the performance boost between CAS=7 and CAS=9 is about 1-2%.
In other words, shorter lifetime, extra heat & stability issues for almost nothing.

I believe the following kit will probably be a good choice and should satisfy all your requirements.

Thanks to all for the guidance  :agrees:

I went with Crucial CT3KIT51264BA1339 12GB kit (4GBx3), 240-pin DIMM $175.99 USD.  Just ordered it - 10% off this week.  Why I was confused is that Newegg does not have Crucial 4GBx3, I had to order direct from Crucial.

Again, thanks to all.

Glad you could find them and that you also could get them with the 10% discount.
Do let us know how things work out with your rig.

As a follow-up, I finished building my rig last week and have been running for 10 days with absolutely no issues.  Thanks again for the guidance on the Crucial ram, it most likely saved me hours of issues.
