Any help would be apricated,

System:
MB    MSI bb xpower bios ver 1.3
MEM 4G x 3 corsir cmx12gx3m3a2000c9
CPU  i7-950 45N R
HD    2 ssd crucial cftddac256mag-1g1 ver 006
VGA  MSI R6870 twin frozer II R
PSU  Cooler master gold pro 1200w
HS    Corsair cwch50
OS    win 7 ult

Bios post screen shows only 8gig memory memort-z in bios shows dimm 1 dim 3 and dimm 5 as populated win7 only sees 7.99 gigs of memory. I have tried reseating the sticks in different slots, I have checked for proper seating of CPU and bent pins. in bios X.M.P. causes blue screen, the timming of the memory defaults to 7.7.7.20 if I change this to the recomended 9.10.9.27 as on the tag on the modules or to 9.9.9.24 as on corsairs web site system crashes. I do noy know where to change the voltage to 1.65. Shouldent the system see all memory if I am not overclocking? I ran memtest-86 all modules check ok when tested indivually in slot 1, however when slot 1 and 3 have modules in the memtest-86 hangs at 5% could this be a bios setting?

In BIOS Cell Menu, disable XMP. Disable 'Spread Spectrum'. DRAM Voltage (V), change from 'Auto' to 1.65V's. Memory Ratio 6, Uncore Ratio 12, bclk 167, 'DRAM Timing Mode', set to 'Linked'. 'Advance DRAM Config.', change CR to 2, timings 9 10 9 27, leave tRFC alone or change it to 88, your choice. Use 'only' the black dimm slots. Check the suspected faulty dimm slot for contacts out of place.

Thanks for the help I found that dimm slot 5 was faulity not reading any memory module. I got a good magnifing glass and could not see any bent pins. MSI just supplied a RMA number so with any luck I'll be using your advice in ten days or so.
