Can someone help me update my bios? I tried to do it using M-Flash by extracting the bios update to the root of my USB, but when I go in there to do the actual update, the file just compresses when I click on it like its not the right file?

The Zip file name is SB48v22
Current Bios version installed is...EB913iMS.C00

My MOBO has the i7-8700k Coffee Lake with Nvidia GTX 1080 ti if htis is important.

I even tried checking for update through "Live Update" but, it says I'm on the latest bios?
I would be fine with that but I ran the current ME tool Intel put out SA-00086 and it says my system is vulerable because my ME needs to be on version 11.8XX and I'm on version 11.7XX and says that I need to get the latest bios from my Manufacturer. Well this is the latest bios for my mother board SB48v22..

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Charlie

Hello,
Your mobo is not a Z370-A Pro because else your current bios installed would be "E7B48IMS.XYZ". "3EB913IMS.C00" is for another model and you can find its name at the upper part of the bios setup screen.
Because, you are not using the good file to update your bios, M-Flash cannot do it (and it is a good thing because, else, you will break your mobo!). Once you have the good one, it will work if you use a FAT32 USB key having no more that 16GB and plugged in a USB 2.0 port on the back panel. To finish,
1/ never use Liveupdate to update bios: it is too riskly
2/ it is highly recommended to do a Clear CMOS before to update bios
Good luck,
:-)

I pulled my M.2 ssd and directly behind it, it's written "Z370 A PRO". Also this is what it says under CPUZ, HWinfo, but inside my bios it says Z370 Gaming Codex XE (MS-b913).

It's a MICRO-CENTER version so who knows what I actually have?

Here is the link to the actual desktop I have.

Thanks,
Charlie

***EDIT***I found it....Here is what I have.

https://www.msi.com/Desktop/support/Codex-XE#down-bios

Also I attached a screen shot of the manual stating it has the z370 A Pro mobo. I guess they just used this mobo and flashed a bios that will make it run with the 8th gen processors and the 1080 ti?

please contact MSI and ask them if they have a updated BIOS as it is possible they have a beta version for the Codex XE >>How to contact MSI.<<

see if they have a updated version or can say how long till they will put out a BIOS update for your AIO (All In One) PC as they use modified BIOS versions not the ones for Consumer level boards!

Thanks @badboy2k. I sent them an email asking for the latest firmware for the Intel ME debacle. Will update here for others to see if they run into the same problems.

you are welcome and let us know the outcome because like you say it may help others with the same issue in the future!

I received a reply, "Closed Ticket"?

They never even responded to my request, just closed the ticket. What's up with that I wonder?

BIOS/EB913IMSvC00 is latest at present.
For Intel SA 00086:
MSI is still need more time for building and testing.
It is over 30 models.
Plesae wait 5 weeks.
