z490 Bios update for windows 11 and now DP no signal

Hello, I have a msi optix mag251rx monitor and a MSI MPG Z490 GAMING PLUS. I updated the motherboard to the newest firmware 7C75vAA.

After the firmware finished and the pc restarted i got a no DP signal on the monitor . I have disconnected the display port cable and just connected a hdmi cable for the monitorand it is still stuck on dp. i have pulled the power cable from the pc and the monitor and holded the power button for 30 seconds along with removing all cables. I have even pulled the cmos battery.

I also have a xbox connected to the msi monitor and its still stuck on DP no signal. at this point the only thing connected to the minotaur is the power cable and the hdmi cable from the xbox. the OSD on the monitor does not pull up. Thank you in advance

EDIT: i had the hdmi cable on the wrong port for the xbox. The monitor now connects to the hdmi to the xbox but nothing when connected to hdmi or dp to pc

Actually it can happen with the last three updates. Nobody knows for sure what's happening there. MSI re-released the last update, but i think it was for something else, as it can still happen with the new update they offer now. Also, the problem only seems to occur sporadically, not everyone trying to update their MSI Z490 gets affected. Very unusual problem, and poor show from MSI in their response (or rather, lack of).

Update - Took my pc to the place the built it to see if they can fix it, and i need to replace the motherboard

motherboard will not allow USB ports to work and cmos method and pin jump will not work, and cpu socket will not detect cpu
This MB is little less then a year old lets see how hard it is to get it warrantied and how long it takes

Yes, when this problem happens during the flashing process, there's little you can do. The board will not boot anymore, Clear CMOS will do nothing. I don't know what you tried with USB ports, but only the Z490 ACE, UNIFY and GODLIKE have a function where you can force-flash the BIOS via USB port and Flash USB Button.

It's very unfortunate that this can happen on Z490 right now and MSI are not doing much about it.

UPDATE: MSI is replacing the MB because its under there 3 year warranty guide. They did not acknowledge their update bricking my motherboard. If you have a MSI Z490 i would recommend not to update the bios to they address it

Ended up upgrading the motherboard to the msi z590 gaming plus. This one has a bios flash button so if it bricks it will at least go back to its original state

Nice. On the MPG Z490 GAMING PLUS, you can update to 7C75vA6 without risk. The risky updates start with 7C75vA7.
