Just this morning I updated the bios to the latest one which is 7C80v18. Update went fine and when the pc rebooted, no display was shown and the cpu debug was lit and stayed on. After 3 hours I power cycled the pc and the had same result of the CPU Debug led being lit.
I have tried everything from removing/replacing the cpu, putting one stick of ram in the first or second slot, cmos reset (battery removal and replacement), removing all usb devices and gpu etc, still no luck.
Wondering if anyone else had this issue and what they did or if they had to RMA the board.

Ok, i haven't searched for it specifically, but i take your word for it.

The CPU debug LED will come on with a CPU problem and a missing CPU. Look at the manual: "CPU - indicates CPU is not detected or fail." But the EZ Debug LEDs usually stop then, so it will stay on CPU LED and not proceed to RAM when there's a CPU problem or CPU missing. Without a CPU or with a CPU problem, it can't properly test the RAM, because the memory controller is inside the CPU.
Regarding the debug LEDs was that the bios update fail caused an anomaly that kept the CPU LED light on with CPU installed. Problem with that is there wasn't anything wrong with the CPU prior to bios fail update. Long story short.....system is back up and running after many attempts of using the USB flash button method. What appears to finally get the system running was the CMOS clear as I did before but this time removed battery instead of just jumping. Now updating BIOS version via M-flash to the prior. ugh!

ps....tech support responded today with 'try flashing by using a different USB port' This does not work the Flash Bios button

Same same here..
10700k
Did the bios update from 17 -18.. bricked.
CPU light stays on and no dice..

This is a fkd issue I'd say.. look at all of us..were all in the same boat because of this.
Have you tried to clear CMOS after that? Mind to share your USB disk brand, capacity, and format?
Did you overclock your CPU or XMP enabled before updating BIOS?

This was a fresh windows 10 install.

Used the same USB drive i use last time to update the bios, 4gb sandisk usb stick.

Tried the CMOS clear, the battery pull nothing.

Hello guys!

My motherboard is MSI Z490 Gaming Plus
Cpu - i7 10700F
Video - Palit GTX1080 Ti
Mem - Goodram Iridium Pro [IRP-3600D4V64L17/32GDC] kit of two 16Gb modules
Drive - Samsung 970 EVO Plus [MZ-V7S1T0BW] on M2_1 slot
Sound card - Creative Sound BlasterX AE-5

After BIOS 7C75vA8 update from 7C75vA3 via M-FLASH I have a black screen for a 13 to 15 secs every boot but then it shows MSI logo and boot normal.
youll need to RMA the MOBO just like us

Also for all reading this, i am literally sending off an email with this forum to the techs along with my RMA to get these guys to see the issue.

Anyone know if the latest version 70C80v1A is OK?

It is not ok. See my thread about the issue, !!! Warning: Z490 boards - problem with recent BIOS updates !!!

Several people bricked their board trying to update the Z490 Tomahawk to 7C80v1A, for example:
etc.

The last safe BIOS to update to on the Tomahawk is 7C80v17. The three after that, if you're unlucky, the board will not boot afterwards.
