Hi,
I have a Z490i Unify motherboard with an i7-10700K mounted. Yesterday the Live Update tool installed a new driver along with latest BIOS.
After reboot I was not able to get display and the EZ Debug LED is still lighting up on the motherboard.
I've tried several CMOS reset with the button at the back but after booting up it still does not affect.
I think it might be bricked... Any suggestions to try before returning to the vendor/supplier?

Thanks in advance

Try use clear cmos jumper instead button and remove power cord from the psu before proceed.
Also try boot after that with barabone setup, remove any unnecessary hardware and leave 1 memory stick only.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply!
Went to the retailer and they tested and tried several steps but non of them revived the motherboard. Was labeled as bricked. Send to MSI for repair.
Thanks

Same issue here with Z490 Gaming Plus M/B and i5-10600K. After latest BIOS update with Dragon Center, the CPU led in EZ Debug is always on, and PC wont boot into bios neither into windows. Tried all solutions nothing worked. I think i have also a brick in my PC after the latest BIOS update

Same problem here...
I think there is no solution unless the board has a flash button for usb flash.
As I see it, it does not recognize the CPU anymore, and no CPU means no BIOS downgrade...

Any news from support?
Do you think my vendor will agree to send me different Motherboard or are they always trying to do a lengthy fixing process?

There's a bunch of Z490 boards specifically that brick themselves when flashing the newest BIOS.
See here for example, https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?...date-no-video-cpu-led-on.365639/#post-2072979

I can't comprehend how MSI can keep those potentially dangerous updates for the Z490 boards online. I think most of the Z490 boards are in danger of this with the latest update, because MSI usually use similar BIOS code for all board models of one generation, and then make model-specific versions of that code (that's why the changelog is always similar/identical).

They should have pulled this latest BIOS ages ago and analyze what could cause this problem. I've flashed MSI boards dozens of times and never had a problem, so this is very unusual.

I had the same problem. My m/b was brand new, about 1 month old, and got bricked after latest bios update at that time. I talked to my vendor and asked for a replacement with a new one..didn't happened. They told me only RMA was the solution (replacement happens only in DOA). Ι send it to my vendor and waited for 2 months for RMA (they had it send to MSI) and got it back last week with a downgraded bios. I won't be upgrading bios again any time soon..

P.S Talk to your vendor, but i think they will RMA it, or open a ticket on MSI
