Hi, does anyone know what causes a Z590 Godlike to not POST when 4 sticks of ram are inserted with XMP on, it manages to boot with 2 sticks on XMP and 4 sticks at stock speed but will not with all 4?

UPDATE: OK so after a painful amount of time trying to figure it out, neither the board (physically) or RAM is at fault but the BIOS is broken, I had the latest BIOS as of writing which was version 7D03vA4 which did not let me use XMP whatsoever with any RAM plugged into the second memory channel, the BIOS version previous to this 7D03vA3 however does work properly and now i have all 4 RAM sticks working with XMP no problem.
This is ridiculous that an expensive board, especially the GODLIKE could have such a fault in the BIOS...

That's interesting. Because there seems to be a pattern developing: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?...i-xmp-profile-dead-after-bios-upgrade.372593/

I have a Z590 board too, however, i'm using just two modules, and i'm currently running with XMP enabled (even tuned further) on the latest BIOS with the same changelog (it's all the same codebase). But this might be something that happens with four modules on the latest BIOS. By the way, BIOS bugs don't differentiate about the price of the board. It hits every model the same, no matter if you got the cheapest or most expensive board model. There is no special treatment for the GODLIKE in BIOS development, it's a Z590 codebase BIOS like all the others.

Thanks to this topic and others, I'm not going insane
Also having issues on Z590 Tomahawk with BIOS 7D08v24
After testing XMP will only work with 2 modules inserted
I was using 4x16GB at 3600 with XMP
Swapped all 4 modules in every config possible and they all work fine with only 2 inserted
When using all 4 BIOS fails with XMP and will only run at 2666
Have also submitted a ticket now on the BIOS
Lets see....

Posting this on both topics, hopefully helps.
Got a reply from MSI support within a few hours, and they then sent me a BIOS update to try
BIOS version is E7D08IMS.253
Worked perfectly, no issues so far.
So definitely a BIOS issue

Today, a new BIOS has come out for the Z590 boards.

Z590 GODLIKE: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MEG-Z590-GODLIKE/support

Z590 Tomahawk: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MAG-Z590-TOMAHAWK-WIFI/support

Z590 GAMING FORCE: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MPG-Z590-GAMING-FORCE/support

And so on...

BIOS version is E7D08IMS.253
This is a beta version that is slightly older than the final BIOS from today (i have explained MSI's unusual beta BIOS version numbering here). So try with the new final, but keep the beta file just in case.

If i may ask, I did make a ticket listing all of my issues with the Z590 Godlike and I got a reply with a BIOS attached named E7D03IMS.A51 which is what I'm currently using that fixed most of the weird instability issues, is the latest listed version .A5 better or am I best keeping .A51?

Any version that doesn't end on a 0 is a beta version, which is slightly older than the following stable version with a 0. Again, i explained it here. It's a bit confusing.

But yes, i would update to the new .A50 stable. It's possible they fixed some minor bugs from A51 beta -> A50 stable. And @AndyB-ZA even had a 53, so they most likely changed/fixed something.

.A51 is the Beta Version of Version .A5 the number on the end is the revision of the Beta Version EG: A51 = Beta 10.5 Beta Version 1 and once its done it becomes A5
