Hello , I recently bought an MSI Z690 Unify-X an i9-12900KS and a Gskill Z5 RGB 6400mhz cl32 kit. I updated the bios to (7D28vA3) to accommodate the 12900KS microcode. so far without worries. I activated XMP to benefit from the maximum performance of my ram. I encounter in games total freeze of the pc it is impossible to play more than 10 min… I would like to know what I can do, I'm lost. I see that there is a beta bios 7D28vA42 that could solve the problem? thank you .

The gpu is plugged on the mobo via a pcie extension i never get issues for my other build on this case . For the airflow vrm ram i don’t know how i can show u but i can show u mobo temp et ram temps in gaming ? I would like to specify that I can navigate, stay on the desk for hours, perform 5-6 3dmark, I have no issues * what sensor u want a screen ?

Here is an example of what i mean, HWinfo64 Sensors with all sensors expanded:

So press on the <--> arrows you see at the bottom of the Sensors window, until you see all sensors at once. Start a game, then after a little while, ALT-TAB out of the game and press PRINT or PrtSc (PrintScreen) on your keyboard, or whatever it's called on French keyboards. This will take a screenshot to the clipboard, you can then press CTRL-V in an image editor to paste and save the picture.

just to add one more point that has not been brought up is mounting pressure. you may have have to much pressure. id back the mount off just a tad and see if that gets you stable. wanted to add an edit that is a really nice set up you have. i hope you get it stable.

Too much pressure on what ? If u say on the cpu , i get a enermax aio I had the same freezing problem. I replaced with the ek quantum that I expected and still the same problem.

ya cpu mounting pressure. if you have allrdy changed coolers and same issue i do not think that could be the issue then. but mounting pressure on 12th gen can be odd.id def try what plutomate suggests turning off xmp and see if you get the crash / freeze. its good to run the system stock to see if its stable at stock before you apply any OC meaning xmp or game mode ect. do you have game mode enabled in the bios as well?

Well, we already had that info, you said you have the F5-6400J3239G16GX2-TZ5RK, so let's see what additional info Alan wants to get out of the sticker ;)

Anyway, as i said, i would run some RAM stability tests like Linpack Xtreme and TM5 now, see my RAM thread.
This bit give Ram chip type and some other info

In the case of G.Skill, you can quickly identify by the inscription on the sticker
Just look at the number that is third from the right in the part number and compare it with this list:
1 - Samsung, 2 - Hynix, 3 - Micron, 4 - PSC, 5 - Nanya, 9 - JHICC

I made these screens I did the best I could before having a freeze
Is it just Horizon Zero you have the problem with or do other games also cause it to freeze and are you on Steam or Epic you have it on
If EPIC click on the three dots and select Verify

There is also some solutions for game lock up in the Steam Community Forums.

If Steam select the Gear Properties and verify Files

Can you try this fix it has also helped to stop game crash.
I had crashing problem and lock up with the game a while back.
After I did a couple of solution found on Steam Community forums I had almost 100 hours of glitch free gaming.

Why not make a screenshot, what's with the photos taken with your phone? Don't feed the stereotype "has money for the most amazing system, but doesn't know how to take a screenshot"...
I told you how to make screenshots, no need to take photos of your monitor. I also told you how to expand the sensor windows to have them all visible at once.

Looking at your sensors, of course we have a very high VCore thanks to the 12900KS, but very low temperatures thanks to your great cooling, even extremely low temperatures in the case of your GPU despite its >400W power draw, i've never seen something quite like that before. Even the VRM and RAM temperatures are low. So it is probably not temperature-related, that much seems clear.

I think it's a good idea to test with other games, yes.

I thought it could be an ssd problem?

No, the SSD cannot cause something like this, in my opinion.
