I’m currently building my first PC. When I went to turn it on, the case (Rosewill RISE series) fans and the CPU fans turned on, but the DRAM light on the debug LED also turned on. I removed both sticks of RAM, reinstalled one, went to turn it on again, and now nothing responds, regardless of if I have one, two, or no RAM. The BIOS button also no longer lights up when I press it.
If it’s of any use, when I got it to turn on I had the motherboard connected to a Corsair HX1000 power supply, a WD_Black SN850 NVMe SSD, an intel i5-12600K LGA1700 CPU, a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition CPU cooler, and 2 16GB Corsair vengeance LPX DDR4 sticks.
…I also might have forgotten to switch the power supply off when I went to remove the RAM. If I’ve wrecked the motherboard it’s probably my own doing, more than likely.
So far I’ve tried unplugging and plugging various things in, shorting JBAT1, removing the CMOS battery overnight and putting it back in in the morning, but I’ve seen no difference. This has all been done with the motherboard still in the case, I might take it out and see if that does anything, though I’m doubtful it will.
Update: looked to see if something was the matter with the PSU, but it passes the paper clip test just fine.

The paper clip test is a no-load test, it is of limited value. The one and only true test wether or not the PSU is involved is to use a different one (known good, not too old, decent quality), connected on-the-fly using its own cables.

However, with first-time builders, mistakes during CPU installation can be quite common, which can lead to bent socket pins. To check for that, take off the CPU cooler, take out the CPU, and check for bent pins in the socket, also see here and the following posts. While they are technically all bent, the pins all have to look completely uniform under light, the tips of the pins have to line up in a perfect pattern, with none visually sticking out from the rest. So if you have some pins that don't look like the others, then you really have some bent pins. Ideally take some photos of the socket and the CPU underside, upload to an image hoster and link them here, even if you don't think there are bent pins (sometimes they are not that easy to spot for the untrained eye).
