I built my first pc two days ago and everything is working perfectly except the reset function. I first noticed it when I was installing my operating system as it prompts you for several restarts through the installation process. I noticed that when it resets, it shuts the monitor down and yet the computer still runs. It never powers down and thus it never restarts. The monitor goes black and turns off and if I try to turn it back on the monitor turns back off again. I took off the wiring from the jpf1 section of the motherboard and tried to short the 2 reset switch pins together and it still didnt reset the computer. Is the motherboard junk?
The computer works perfectly fine. Ive updated all of the drivers and have everything installed but I cant help but want that reset feature fixed. I might add that even if I click reset on the desktop, the computer still doesnt reset. It just turns the monitor off and the computer keeps running.
