[z97 gaming 5] no video output

[Configuration:]

PSU CORSAIR|CMPSU-650TX 650W RT
Z97-Gaming 5 1150ATX Intel Motherboard
Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz LGA 1150 Boxed Processor
ASUS HD7850-DC2-2GD5-V2 Radeon HD 7850 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI
8GB Corsair VS2GB1333D4
Monitor DEll U2312HM
Hard Drive: M4-CT256M4SSD2
Hard Drive: Samsum HD103SJ

[Issue]
1. Most time. No POST. The debug code is 92 or D6. 92 is PCI initialization started and D6 is No Console Output Devices are found.
2. Sometimes when the system is able to boot, if I let the system idle for a couple of hours, like overnight, it will (100%) BSOD and shows the issue with video card driver atikmpag.sys.

[Steps tried]
1. Remove the video card and use the integrated graphics from CPU. Everything works fine. No issue 1 or 2.
2. video card RMA. They did 48 hour stress testing. No problem. They sent the card back. I installed it and have the same issue.
3. Installed the card to another PCIe slot. The same issue.
4. clear CMOS. The same issue.
5. Reinstalled the video card drive. The same issue.


Does anyone have any suggestion what else I can try? I don't have friends nearby having a video card, so it is difficult to try another video card.

Regarding testing different part, you can go to local IT services and ask for testing different graphics and different power supply in your system. Without this, its hard to say whats wrong.

What BIOS version are you running?

I don't remember the version. I will check it after work.
Two more pieces of information.
1. The CPU and motherboard are relatively new, two month old.
2. When the system is running, if I restart the machine or shut down and immediately start it, usually it works fine. It might be some heat/temperature related, but I don't know what it is.

Don't think it;s related to heat as at first boot the CPU is not in risk of hitting high temps even with, very poor, stock cooler. Though you can try reseating CPU and cooler. During that, see if the socket don't have any bent pins.

Steps I have done since the last post.
1. reseat the CPU. Everything looks normal.
2. change video cable to a better one (dual-link DVI-D).
3. updated the BIOS to newest 1.8.

After I was back from work, I started the machine. I can hear the Windows login sound, but monitor did not light up. I restarted the machine by pressing restart button. The system was then up.

I shutdown the system, waited for a couple of minutes and started it. The system normally booted.
I don't know what is the difference between booting after 10 hours and 10 minutes.
Maybe monitor issue? Or some compatibility issue?

System normally booted today and I did nothing between today and yesterday. I will continue monitor it.

Ok, I heard someone has conflict issue on windows7 and atikmpag.sys. Also, CCC version 14.9 has BSOD and black screen issue, and this has been solved with 14.9.1b, you can try the latest version and see if the problem still persists.

I also notice the newest ccc software is 14.11.2 Beta. Do I need install this?

Several days. The situation is slightly better, but still not normal.
When I first start the system, seems the system can normally boot and I heard the windows login sound, but no display. I restart the machine and then there is display. This situation is consistent for several days.

I really don't know what to do now....
Anyone has any idea?

My thought is to reinstall OS. Feels like some updates on XX (Where XX is unknown driver/software) are slowly fixing this.
