My 6000+ now shows up instead of unknown processor.
Thanks a bunch!

Mike I am not  touchy.

I was just trying to find a way to turn off that Robot voice,

the other versions :users: did not have that sound.

Run the Tool, then start/call your mixer and mute the Tool from there. The mixer will remember your preferences for next/future runs:

I'm trying to update the UEFI but it doesn't work. I downloaded UEFI v1.A for the MSI P67A-C45 B3, then I used method I of the MSI HQ Tool but during the UEFI update it blocks at "Preparing to take a new BIOS backup". How can I resolve?
I have already used this method (with the same flash drive) on my previous B2 motherboard without any problems.

Now if I go in the CPU features I get "Error invalid input method" (or something similar). Before trying to update it didn't happen. Since I interrupted the UEFI update I could have something missing/corrupted...

I have the exact same harware as before, except for the B3 motherboard (but it's indentical) which came with UEFI v1.9.
I don't know if I need to update the ME firmware too.

have you waited enough time? its big bios it takes some time to store it
else you maybe run out of USB disk space..
If problem persist use "Fix My USB key" Tool's option 1st, then prepare the drive and try again

I'll try to wait more this time.
The space shouldn't be a problem, it's a completely empty 8GB flash drive.
I'll also try to fix it.
Thanks. :)

I have sucessfully updated using the tool a number of times. Recently it has decided to fail. When i start the helper a command prompt flashes in and out of existance. Running as admin does not help. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with a fresh download after deleting temp files and cachje and what not. I was able to run the tool in safe mode, but it seeed  swhortened. The resulting usb device does not complete the update. What gives? In fact command prompts in general have been flaky. DEP doesn't seem to be running or present for that matter....

msi gx640. I manage to read some of what have showed up. It's something about not able to find path. Can it have something to do with user account name "K&I"?? it doesn't recognize special signs??

well didn't get answer so made a little experiment. I have installed 2nd system with user name without special signs and after installing and running program everything worked perfectly. To be completely sure I've installed program on some other computer with windows XP which has same user name with special sign (K&I) and program didn't run. After reinstaling system and putting user name without any special signs during the installation, again program worked perfectly. Maybe it will be useful for future relase. In the mean time maybe someone could give some simple solution to this problem?

Yes, "&" symbol in user name can cause the issue.
Have to investigate further about it

Hey folks,

Trying to run the USB tool v1.19F1, and it starts up a cmd window and then the following popup appears:

Quote
Unsupported 16-Bit Application
The program or feature "\??\C:\Users\Paul\AppData\Local\Temp\sw.com" cannot start or run due to incompatibility with 64-bit versions of Windows.  Please contact the software vendor to ask if a 64-bit Windows compatible version is available

If I dismiss this popup (by hitting Ok), the cmd window then says:

Quote
find: 'x86': No such file or directory

It emits lines like that several times, the text colours changing from cyan to green and finally to red.  There are some other failed commands intermixed.  It finishes by saying my MSI Mainboard could not be detected, and then the cmd window closes.

I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit with an MSI K9AG Neo2-Digital motherboard.  I've used this tool before, maybe a couple of years ago now, from the same Windows installation, and it worked fine.  I can't remember if I ran into this problem or not.  Any suggestions?

Thanks,
-Paul

Hey,

I was able to run the tool on my Win 7 x64 laptop, and use the resulting USB stick to update the BIOS on my Vista x64 machine.  Not sure what WinAVR is, but I'm pretty sure I don't have it installed.  I do have Kaspersky AV installed, and I have DEP enabled for all processes.  I didn't get any DEP messages though.

No, only on all MSI retail products :lol_anim:

Ofcourse it's tested on any MSI branded laptop, didn't you read the first topic or the >>Use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher Guide?<<

The first post in this topic has been reported twice this week by users, both claiming that the 'download link is broken' or 'doesn't work'. This is just a reminder that you click on the attachment under that post to download the tool! And it is working just fine.

I just built my new system and I can't see my bios it just shows part of the msi logo screen and if i click on it random bios options will come up, I tried 2 video cards so far with same result so i was going to try this tool to flash the bios. Im runnin a 2500k on p67a-g45 with 8gb gskill sniper and a radeon 5750.  When i hit the link to dl this tool it sends me to the forum login screen and says im either not logged in or i don't have access to the file.  Even if i do get this to work Im not sure i can even select a boot device since i cant see my bios...Ive used live 5 to update and it keeps saying it still needs 1.b0 but it installs it and says i have 1.b

to clean all temp things
then try again, if problem persist try with different internet browser

I think something is wrong with the installer, after I go through all the steps in the launcher at the end it gives me the following error.

I discovered that my antivirus was treating the file as hostile and removing it. I have since flashed my BIOS.
