I have this motherboard....MSI K9N6PGM2-V2......, and I have an old Epson AP5000 printer that we use for a Rural Water District Software program.  My wife does the books.  I recently upgraded the old computer to this new one with the MSI K9N6PGM2-V2 motherboard.  Only problem, it does not have the old 25 pin connector for this printer.  Some friends suggested buying a cable, which I did, to plug into the motherboard, it is an "IDC 26/DB25 motherboard parallel port connector cable".  Looks like it would fit, but when I physically tried to install the cable, the end of the cable is "too" wide for the slot on the motherboard, which is (JLPT1).  I am at a loss, as other adapter cables look to be exactly what I purchased.  Any help would be greatly appreciated, as my wife is getting very "upset" with me, as she needs to do her water books by tomorrow!
thanks so much,

One of these PCI slot to parallel port cards might fit your needs and would be transferable to another system if needed.

What is the pitch of the header pins, 2.0mm or 2.54mm?

A similar question as yours is here, different MB though.
