Ive just bought  an new kit:
-Coolermaster 212Plus
-Core I5 2400
-MSI P67A-GD65
-TeamXtreem PC3 12800 DDR3 LV 1600 MHz CL7 (2*2GB)     http://www.teamgroup.com.tw/teamgroup/en/productDetail.php?pd_id=533&pl1_id=1&pl2_id=59

and my old components Psu Corsair 650W ,Evga GTX 295 , 2x 1 tb Seagate , and my "antique" Audigy 2 ZS PCI

Ive maid last bios update 1.7  on motherboard  .

From time to time i experience sistem hang on first power of the sistem  - usually leds are all  blue  but nothing apear on the screen , sistem dont initialize  ; other times i get first 3 leds  blue  and sistem dont initialize ; after 4-5-6-7 resets  finnaly sistem boot and i can use him at full potential .

1. Ive tested my Vga with furmark,3dmark,MSI Kombustor  - its ok
2. my monitor its ok
3. Psu its ok

ive read  on internet about a "Cold power" issue on many 1155 motherboards  - i mean u power sistem  , sistem hangs for a time and after many resets it starts and if u restart  it its working ok .

i suspect thare is a bios problem around CPU-MB-MEMORY-And the rest of devices VGA/Sound PCI maibye cant be detected ....

thank u in advance.

For the moment memory in on slot 2/4   but i tried them in 1/3 same problem .
This manifests only on first startup of the sistem ,   i need some advices or  hints  on 1155 soket - if i cant find a sollution i am obligated to change  mainboard brand ...
I disable from bios "serial" controler ... after i come from work i will check if problem persists.
This wekend i have more time to test sistem.

Try with just one stick RAM in the primary dimm slot (blue closest to the CPU). Try both sticks individually in that slot. Disable Spread Spectrum & EUP 2013. System is not like 775 socket, going to slots 2 & 4 don't work. In the OC & Modders Section of the forum, in brattak's thread is a beta 1.8b6 BIOS along with necessary information of using the forum USB Flasher utility along with it. Give that a try. What OS are you using?

It may be RAM related. Recommend to set RAM manually to 1333, CR 1, 9 9 9 24, tRFC 88 - 107 range, DRAM V. on Auto & see if it will be stable. BIOS flash successful?

 I did not flash bios with Beta yet , i prefer a oficial release;
I tested ram and all that settings as u said (1333) ,but  after few min (Random: 10 -> max 1h) sistem freeze and all usb devices unpowered (kb,mouse dead)  so i suspect is something related to usb.

I must mention that kb and mouse are  in usb 2.0 port's from mb   ( i also tested them on usb 3.0 ports same  problem)

With everything stock/auto/default regarding RAM, what is SPD setting? Could you post screenshots of CPUID's CPU-Z Memory & SPD Tabs for comparison? As in my sig., using beta BIOS 1.8b6. I read you would rather not try a beta, but at some certain point, there is nothing to lose.

Newest USB controller drivers loaded? Power related setting regarding USB in either Windows Power Option or BIOS Power Management?

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Here u have a print - sistem is stable even for 40 min ( in this pic is 20min )  but after a time  sistem is freezing - my G15 kb is unpowered /also mouse and i must reset .

My last kit was Q9550/muskin 4g 1066/ GB EP 45DS4    and it was stable the only componentes i changed are just CPU 2400  + MB MSI + Team Xtrem RAM .

RAM speed & timings look to be in order. What does BIOS H/W Monitor show for CPU & System temp, as well as CPUID's H/W Monitor?

Temp is fine.

If you still have your V1.7 BIOS file, could you explore it & see if the ME update is shown as part of the package? Should read like I got blocked in red.

Added: A suggestion. These boards have a backup BIOS, even if you brick the primary, you should still be able to boot off the reserve. Why not give the 1.8b6 a try?

- i check from bios primary boot device: Usb stick

restart

imput comand         7681v17   (as in bios manual)  enter

it also update firmware .

I respect the exact procedure ; its not the first bios update i make (on EFI was first...      :undecided:)

No. Don't misunderstand, I'm not trying to say you did it wrong, just trying to make sure the ME firmware & update was included in the files that flashed.

Jack posted a pdf of the Dual BIOS. Here is the link, look for Reply #5 in this thread; https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=145084.0 If you have a failsafe in place to revert to a saved BIOS in the backup chip, I really recommend to give 1.8b6 a try. The forum USB flasher utility information & the 1.8b6 + ME can be found in brattak's OC & Mod Section thread. Svet has everything posted & linked in that thread also involving the beta & flashing it.

There is an update to the ME at the Intel Website. It is an Interface Host to Firmware update (Version 7.0.3.1184) & no flashing involved. It is worth a try.

Added: Also the info of the 1.8b6 + ME1164 is in this thread; https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=145081.0 (Svet Reply #1 & #3).

If running the RAM at default, check in BIOS if DRAM voltage is reading 1.472. If it is, recommend setting it one step above auto which I believe is 1.507V's. If your running XMP or the like, this would call for a different strategy, but I do believe the symptoms are RAM related.

Yup! That's going to be the 'big' question.

C-State & actually all the available settings are disabled in CPU Features, Pwr Tech., along with Spread Spectrum also being disabled. The board is working so well right now, I don't really want to mess around too much, but enabling one at a time of those Pwr Tech. settings, may reveal something. C-State & Management Engine are all Intel tech. :undecided:
