MSI H67 Motherboard issues
« on: 01-May-11, 07:46:27 »

Hi guys

Returning here after a very long time as I didn't have a MSI motherboard again till now  :hat tip:

So, I have upgraded to a Sandy Bridge i3 and bought this H67 motherboard.

Now, when I first booted up my build, I saw behaviours of short-circuiting as everything kept switching off couple of seconds after I pressed the ON button. On the 5th time, everything booted up OK and I no longer get this issue. But, now during POST, I get a strange type of quick 3 beeps and the numbers 90 91 A3 appear in the lower right-hand corner.

My questions are :
- Why was the short-circuitry happen ? [  I had a P35 motherboard in the same case and no such problems ]
- What is this message in the corner ?
- I also want to upgrade to UEFIBIOS. How do I go about it ?

Thanks.

Btw, other parts of my rig : i3 2100 s1155, Samsung F3 1TB SATA, Inno3D GTS 250 , Corsair XMS3 DHX, Samsung SATA DVDRW, OCZ FATAL1TY 550W PSU

Your board already has an UEFI Implementation (there are no non-UEFI-releases for your board).  If you want to know how to update to a more recent UEFI Version, please read this guide: >>Use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<<.

Basically, those are status codes, telling you the current P.O.S.T. Checkpoints.  The checkpoints are defined in this document:

Could have been anything.  Impossible to definately answer this question without further informations about your system/system configuration and further tests.

Thanks Svet. I ended up manually using the HP bootable USB tool and then copying BIOS files and then updating the BIOS.MSI REALLY NEED TO come out with a Windows BIOS update tool like ASUS or Gigabyte.

However, it's still not a UEFI BIOS like this :
