Z77A-GD55 EIST wont work w/ multiplier change
« on: 21-August-12, 08:12:18 »

EIST for some reason is not working when I overclock a 2600k. I have the latest BIOS "1.5" and all the drivers installed. Power option is set to balanced and it still doesn't work.  I got it to dial back the CPU ratio with the C-State option but the voltage still hangs at 1.3V.

I also have two SSDs in RAID 0 and would like the new OROM for the RST to get TRIM to work correctly.

EIST won't work if you use the "Adjust CPU Ratio" option to overclock. You set a fixed CPU multi.

Really, so do I adjust the turbo on all cores?

What about the OROM?

Holy crap I got it. I guess I've been pampered with Asus and how easy it is to overclock there boards. I'll take some screenshots later to help out anyone else.

It sounds like you were trying two different types of overclocks. A turbo oc w/ power savings features on vs a hard oc. Which one do you prefer perhaps we can make some suggestions.

Here is a link to a decent turbo oc, just remember everyone has their preferences and trial and error is the only way to find out what works best for your setup.

Thanks for the link, I think I'm sticking with the turbo method.

What about the OROM update, any news? I think the current one is 11.0.something.

There is a beta posted, but if you aren't having problems, I wouldn't recommend any type of bios flash.
If you do need to flash:
>>Use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<<

download the bios file from:
