As of right now, some of the newer bios's for intel platforms need to have the ME version flashed as well as the bios.  In order for this to happen, you need to do one of two things.

1.) Ask for us to provide a bios w/ a necessary file to use the forum flasher (This is included with all applicable beta bios's and is attached to this post.)

2.) Use M-Flash with ME the MSI recommended way, but one that seems prone to bricking one of your bios's.

Also, after the bios is flashed, you need to install the most recent ME drivers inside of the OS.
>>MSI Downloads<<

This is all applicable to all LGA 1155 and 2011 socketed boards.

Edit : I have attached FPT for LGA 1155 & 2011 mainboard. This will manually flash your bios and ME.
Syntax: fpt -f [bios] -savemac
This is done from pure dos of course.

Hi

I think that I've seen a "preferred" sequence of updating the drivers somewhere but can't find it now.

I do wonder if there is a recommendation of updating the Intel drivers after updating the bios; do believe that the Intel Management need to be updated last but don't know about the others, especially if newer drivers are available along with the new bios.  Really not sure if the sequence makes any difference........

It's just updating most recent ME drivers after updating. Nothing else.

So after running into issues (B4 hang with a MS Gaming Keyboard) on my MS-7751 MPOWER I updated to the newest BIOS version (OC Genie OFF).

H.60

Now when booting if I look under System Information I see the following

Intel ME FW Version N/A

And when trying to update to the newest ME driver I get the message "Your system does not meet the requirements of this software."

I've now flashed the bios and ME around 10 times. I've completely reset the CMOS/BIOS every time, but I still have no ME firmware.

Is there a manual way to flash just the ME firmware?

hello
I am confused about this ME thing
I have Z77A-G43 mainboard with:
BIOS ver E7758IMS v2.8
ME FW ver 8.0.10.1464
my OS is Win 7 64bit
windows update installs ME driver 8.1.0.1263
ME driver for this MB from MSI is 8.1.10.1275
and now a few questions
1. is the ME Firmware version good for this BIOS version?
2. is it enough to stay with 8.1.0.1263 ME driver from win update or should I update system with MSI 8.1.10.1275 driver?
regards,
Michal

I tried MSI Live Update 5 and it downloads package named ME driver 8.0.10.1464 same like my ME FW
but
it installs ME driver version 8.0.0.1262
isn't it interesting? :)

Not really. The ME8 Firmware and ME8 driver can be different. Live Update is a good way to bork your board, especially if you try to flash a UEFI/BIOS update.

The .1275 driver is the one I would probably use, or the latest one from the Intel Website.

Ah OK that is good to know!  I was confused as to why the ME firmware version in my BIOS (4.3) was 8.0.10.1464 compared to the new ME driver in Windows 8 (9.0.0.1287).

Is there an ability to update the firmware version?  Is there any point to doing so?

the intel site said that the driver version is 8.1.30.1349 WHQL. I still have the 8.1.0.1275, is it because i doesn't update my bios ?

Most likely, the ME drivers detect the ME bios extension version and install only what is necessary.

If the ME driver remain the same as the previous bios, do we need to reinstall ME?  Did read here that what is really installed depends on the bios version?!

I just downloaded the update bios to 10.11; presumably it fixes some problems with uefi especially for booting from usb key or a dvd; especially since I had mistakenly installed win 8.1 & didn't think I had put anything into uefi (maybe win8.1 did).

Back to win7 & much happier.

In general yes, due to the ME being fully erased and re-written during the flashing process. (If using the forum flash tool / option1)

After new BIOS released for Z77A-GD65 (10.10) and Z77 MPOWER (17.11) these two motherboards lost their compatibility with 2133 Mhz overcolcking. I'm returned to the old BIOS and he's OK. The memory installed on GD65 is "Samsung M378B5273DH0-CH9" and on Z77 MPOWER is Hynix Original 1600 (don't remember exact model). And these two working stable on 2133 before these BIOS updates. These updates have "- Improved memory compatibility." so actualy they don't. Please, take note of this.

I got that message previously and had to re-install the ME drivers several times until it succeeded.

It can also be another program interfering.

EDIT: should have read more carefully before making this post. trying to flash the bios with the MSI HQ flash tool again (in conjunction with FPT). I'm pretty not including the fpt is the only reason the ME hasn't been flashed already since I've used the flash tool 4 times by now.

To use the forum tool, you need to use the bios + valcheck for the me 7&8 boards.

That did the trick. Installing the me8 drivers now with no problems. The whole problem seems to be that I don't read instructions closely enough and the valcheck was all that I was missing :-P) Thanks for the link xmad.

It could update BIOS and drivers.
No need to search for the latest BIOS.

Hello
I Need some Help, My H77ma g43 was Giving me some troubles, sounds of unpluged USB randomly, getting stuck at BIOS post ( stick at Codés sequence o BIOS boot) then it started to do not show post, pressing power button leads to no BIOS post the PC just keeps running. só i discovered that BIOS would boot with CMOS reset by removing battery, bit every time i Sant to use PC i need to reset BIOS otherway it wont boot BIOS.
so i tried to update BIOS and ME via USB in M Flash Menu, it was going fine until 50% then it autorebooted AMD got stuck at Codés screen A2 i waited 5 minutes, then decided to remove USB since nothing happened, when i removed it the screen showed the ME update progress 54 % again it stucked for 2 minutes, remover and reinserted the pendrive and it worked to 100% sayng update sucesfull.
when system rebooted nothing happens, it cant boot, coolers spin for line 1 second and nothing more, even the power led wont light and it keeps on a loop trying to boot BIOS.
is there anything i van do to reviver it?
