FM2-A55M-E33 + APU A4-5300 = no video signal
« on: 04-March-13, 18:32:35 »

Hello everybody and thanks in advance.
I just built 2 computers with the same specs: FM2-A55M-E33 + APU A4-5300. I can't get any video signal out of either of them, which of course is important because it means it's not something faulty. Fans spin, I can hear the HHDD starting up, LEDs lights are on (I even get the 3 beeps if I get the memories out) but for the love of God I get NO video signal, not even the MSI logo, so I'm unable to enter the BIOS set-up. I checked the MOBO support page and it says that APU is supported. It says CPU code "AD5300OKA23HJ" but mine says "AD5300OKHJBOX" on the box under "part number".
So what's causing the problem? Could it be BIOS related? I have no idea how to update the bios without a working CPU.

there the same processors just one is OEM the other is retail!

AD5300OKA23HJ is an OEM/tray microprocessor
AD5300OKHJBOX is a Retail box microprocessor <---- AD5300OKA23HJ CPU package with Cooler included

so the base BIOS should support the CPU Regardless of date the boards where made!

Please list the parts in the builds >>Posting Guide<< also what PSU are you using and what is the +12V rail rating/s?

also have you connected the 4pin CPU power connector on the board?

what PSU is it? (make, model and +12V rail amperage please) 450W is meaningless to us as that tells us nothing

I'm having this same exact issue...did you find a solution?  I was actually able to load up the OS and what have you.  Boxed it up, shipped it to my brother and upon arrival he had no video at all.  I've got it back and even tried a GPU I had laying around and can't get video from that either.  Board is bad?  Any help is much appreciated.
