Failed bios update on Z87-GD65 gaming, now what?
« on: 27-June-13, 22:56:45 »

I need a bit help with getting my Bios A up and running again.

I just tried the latest beta bios. Never had any issues with these. Downloaded to an USB stick, switched to bios, updated, the computer reset by it self and it installed the ME stuff and rebooted again.... and from there it was dead. Not even the debug leds are on. I guess something went wrong.

Afterwards I booted with the second bios which is still fine. I went to windows to get the old bios, downloaded it, extracted it to the stick etc and booted with the stick in the computer but nothing happens.

Can someone tell me how to get my Bios A back in action?

I dont even get signal to the monitor. Debug leds are off. Computer is on. Tried both igp and peg. Does this F1 work at that stage? Tried to use the working bios to flash corrupted and it lools like it is related to the ME part. It stops flashing at 47% when flashing Bios+Me file but flash 100% with bios only.

Any way to reflash the ME firmware without reboot?

Seems that I can flash bios, but when it reboots, it just get stuck.

I read pjakuszews earlier post , and his way of solving it, solved my problem too.

1) downloaded intel flash programming tool http://downloads.hwbot.org/downloads/BIOS/Z87/FPT_v.9.5.0.1428.rar
2) booted with the working bios, and dumped that with the "fptw64 -d biosb.bin" command
3) switched bios on the mainboard right after while everything running
4) flashed the bricked bios with "fptw64 -rewrite -f biosb.bin"
5) rebooted and back in business.
