z87 g45 gaming bios issues
« on: 02-August-13, 18:45:14 »

Hello,

I just mounted my new computer and I have issues with the motherboard.

When it boots, the boot screen does not have the right resolution and when I try to enter the BIOS, it's the same, also the graphics are messed up, elements are missing etc.

And when I try any option of the menu (for example , Settings) I got a message (bin is incorrect) and then the computer reboots.

The bios was version 1.2, I updated it to 1.3 and it's exactly the same.
I saw on internet, that I'm not the only one and the problem exists in other motherboards.

I think it's a BIOS software problem, any way to resolve this ?

Thank you !

What monitor?

Are you using IGD or and discrete card?

Have you tried different ways of hooking up the monitor? IE: HDMI vs vga vs DVI

I have a msi 760 gtx as video card and I use dvi as output.

But I am pretty sure this a motherboard issue, because the bios is unusable, display is messed up and some option made it to freeze / restart.

It can even boot on usb for the forum way to flash
Also when I shutdown the computer, it restart, another proof that there is a problem with the bios.
I flashed it via windows twice with cmos clear and there is still the same problem (was there before I did the flash) as I can't boot usb and bios is too messed up to use mflash.

I opened a ticket at msi support regarding this issue

Regards,

Have you tried the latest beta bios?

What is the s/n of the card?

Use nvflash for windows: >>Download NVFLASH for windows<<

syntax:
nvflash /v >rep.txt [ENTER]

At the bottom of the report it will tell your vbios version.
