MSI Z87-G55, pci-e bifurcated?
« on: 21-December-13, 01:04:48 »

I have a MSI Z87-G55 motherboard which has 7 pci-e slots.

I want to know if one of the slots can be bifurcated.
Which means I want to use a pci-e splitter to have a total of 8 pci-e slots for this board.

Thank you in advance!

No. Only 3 AMD graphics cards in Crossfire can be used. There are only 16 PCI-E lanes to the processor. 8X 4X 4X is it as indicated below in the product description.

• 3 x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots
 - The operating mode will be x16/ x0/ x0, x8/ x8/ x0, or x8/ x4/ x4.
Please always install expansion card into the PCI_E2 “First”.
• 4 x PCIe 2.0 x1 slots

I only need 8 pci-e lanes total but that isnt the problem ...
the problem is the limit of 7 physical pci-e slots.
I would like to max out a board with 8 gpus (yes this is about mining).

I already have 7 gpus running but I want to utilize a 8th one to max out the OS capabilities.

But all I really need to know is if the MSI Z87-G55 supports bifurcation of its pci-e slots but apparently it doesnt.

Thank you.

from the number of GPU's it makes us totally expect that you are Bitcoin/Lite coin or password hacking so you will not get any help as its looks very shady even if your intentions are good its got a terrible reputation for any so your out of luck!

we do not help mining as its a shady activity so we will not help you... sorry...
