So you need facebook in order to do this? That's kinda bad that you need a Facebook login in order to do this.....

So....as I was saying.....

I took the MSI Christmas Star picture and designed a 3D version of it.
I then 3D Printed the star out using my 3D printer, finished the surfaces, painted it the appropriate colors, added in LED's to make it light up, and then stuck it on my laptop.

Overall, probably about 6 hours worth of work.....but it looks freaking awesome. I'm quite happy with the results.

I can post more pictures of it if anyone desires to get a better look at it.

http://woobox.com/x6s4pr/vote/for/5499345  That would be my entry, for those that are wondering.....

Just an Update.... I currently have my GS70 Stealth Pro running the I7 4710HQ, 16Gb DDR3 Ram, HGST (AKA WD) 1tb 7200rpm HDD, 3x Crucial 240gb mSata HDD in Raid 0, and a Nvidia GTX 870M Graphics card.

On my PC, I have a Thermaltake MS-I Epic Edition Red and Black case, a 240gb Kingston  HyperX SSD, 2x HGST (AKA WD) 2tb HDD , MSI 970 Gaming MB, 2x MSI R9 270x Gaming 4G graphics cards running a Crossfire Bridge. A AMD FX 8350 Black edition 4Ghz eight Core Processor, overclocked to 4.5GHz Constant, cooled by a Dynatron Evo 11, 32GB 2133 Corsair Vengeance Pro Ram, a off-brand Viotek 850W semi-modular PS,  4 19" Dell Monitors, A MSI DS200 Gaming Mouse, I swap different keyboards depending on what I'm doing (Waiting for the Release of the MSI DS4100 Gaming Keyboard.)

Most of my overclocking relies on MSI's OC Genie 4.

I'll eventually post some Pix on the forums. Happy gaming, and good luck to all entries!!!

It took me along time doing my pc tree I had already done the pc in lights and decerations before I entered in the competition as I do it every year to make the house feel more christmasie it took me about 5-6 hours work trying to rap the lights around the pc but it mostly took a long time as I kept changing the look of it about 9-11 times until I decided on the look I have now.
Btw this pc I done up was my brothers pc that I decarated on the 1st of December 2014 , He let me this year since my Pc broke down from old age about 7-8 months ago .

If i won the prize it would be great as I would no longer need to use my brothers pc that he shares with me  ;D
Merry Christmas to all and spread the christmas Cheer

Wether or not posting this here is going to help me or not is anyones guess, but hey
im a bit short on likes and anything will help.

I've literally completely ruined my PC putting a dorito in the CPU slot, i mean it was old anyway and i need to replace it, and this competition couldn't have come at a better time, i mean its just such a beautiful computer, seeing as i just fried my current one this would be amazing to own.

woobox.com/x6s4pr/vote/for/5482821 - that is my entry

Thanks guys !  :cheesy:

  • DONT LIE AND DONT CHEAT!
Re: Christmas Star Photo Contest

I personally sent this info to MSI and again nothing was done so look at the 2 cheaters who are commenting on here the whole contest was a joke MSI did not follow their own contest rules the main winner has 2 entries plus no MSI hardware although its clearly stated in the rules plus the main winner only had 26 votes where there was a nice MSI setup with 85 real votes and others including mine with 185 real votes also look where all there winners are from anyway read the rules again and then look at the photos of the winners, I am annoyed for two reasons a company like this should not be deceiving people/fans just for a marketing ploy and secondly I had way more real votes and any one I shared the hell out of that contest to make sure I was getting the votes which count for 30% now anyone can do the maths and see there was no way I could lose unless MSI rigged it which it is clear to see it was Rules are below

Here are the steps:
1. Print out the MSI Christmas Tree Star
Download the MSI Christmas Star at:
www(dot)dropbox(.)com/.../7r0u2.../Christmas%20Stat.jpg...

2. Go to your Desktop/ Notebook, put the MSI Christmas Star on it, and take a photo! <<< TAKE A PHOTO

3. Upload your Christmas Star photo on the contest page, and share to your friends. ^^^^^ not photos
Christmas Star Photo Contest:  woobox(dot)com/x6s4pr

***Notice***
You can take photo with your PC or Notebook,
But we need to see the MSI Christmas Star in the Photo as well!

***Evaluation/Winning Criteria***
70% Creativity <<<<<
30% Votes <<<<<<<<<

SMALL PRINT RULES at the bottom of the official rules for this contest !!
***Contest Rules***
1.. The Photo you uploaded shouldn’t exceed 2 MB.
2. The Photo must include the MSI Christmas Star, and your PC/Notebook.
3. The file type can be JPEG or PNG.
4. The PC or Notebook need to be the MSI product, or using MSI motherboard/GPU <<<<<<<<<<<
5. By submitting your photo entry to this contest you give MSI the right to use/upload/print, any photo entries for marketing activities during or after this contest.
6. Any copyright infringement or piracy is absolutely forbidden. Your designs should be just that – your own photos!

ok this is what I sent to MSI FAN CLUB there is clear cheating going on in the photo giveaway please sort it out I hate cheaters I did not think it was possible but there is two who are faking votes which has been brought to my attention  Oli Bailey and RinRin Parian I'am pretty annoyed that people will stoop so low as to cheat like this just make sure they do not get away with it please

S
154 vote done... one warning. it¨s possible, that someone now how to hack those plugin likes.
here is yours
www(dot)facebook(dot)com/plugins/like.php?app_id=451684954848385&channel=https%3A%2F%2Fs-static.ak.facebook.com%2Fconnect%2Fxd_arbiter%2F7r8gQb8MIqE.js%3Fversion%3D41%23cb%3Df2349fb088c9e3a%26domain%3Dwoobox.com%26origin%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fwoobox.com%252Ff17a5f3bad6d306%26relation%3Dparent.parent&color_scheme=light&href=http%3A%2F%2Fwoobox.com%2Fx6s4pr%2Fvote%2Ffor%2F5406214&layout=button_count&locale=en_US&ref=like_lightbox&sdk=joey&send=false&show_faces=false&width=72

S
and here is your contest entry plugin likes.
www(dot)facebook(dot)com/browse/likes?id=754169041342234
and i mean hacking. that they add fake votes to it

Barry
Thanks for the vote hun and what do you mean ?

S
i mean, that people can increase the likes there how much they want. you have 154 right know there.. it's possible to add 100 at 10 minutes

Barry
I HATE Cheaters and I do see a photo with 488 votes

i will check it
yes exaclty..  like you see it
<share_count>438</share_count>
<like_count>39</like_count>
<comment_count>11</comment_count>
<total_count>488</total_count>
<click_count>0</click_count>
the person who has 488 likes cheated. so there is only less than 20 real votes so this shows cheated
share count 438 and comment count 11
488 liker has only this people liking the photo
www(dot)facebook(dot)com/browse/likes?id=953962287965356

Barry
how do I check mine I do not want to cheat any1 thats why I have been asking everybody to like my photo?

S
yeah. you have to think right know, that do you report the cheater or do you cheat your self.. but then it's possible that the likes will go over 1000 and it's war
and it's possible, that the contest holder will change rule. that they decide winner..

Barry
I do not  cheat and I hate people who do!
how do I find the info like you just have

S
yes i understand this situation. i have been in the same thing
if i show this information to you. don't tell nobody this because people start to cheat with it

Barry
no I only need it so I can watch to see who votes on my photo

yes here is your contest likers.
you see here how you have real votes and many real people voting for you
www(dot)facebook(dot)com/browse/likes?id=754169041342234
 api.facebook(dot)com/restserver.php?method=links.getStats&urls=http%3A%2F%2Fwoobox(Dot)com%2Fx6s4pr%2Fvote%2Ffor%2F5406214&layout=button_count&locale=en_US&ref=like_lightbox&sdk=joey&send=false&show_faces=false&width=72

Barry
so if I save these links I can just check through here?

S
you will understand it, that the first one who has 488 votes will add votes to it when you are close. so exchaning goes trouble
yes. you can save those to your  notepad and paste to the browser
