MegaPC 651 & Both TV Tuner Cards
« on: 04-August-03, 15:15:52 »

Well,
I am having a little bit of trouble here that I can't seem to figure out. I bought the Mega PC 651 with the TV@nywhere Master in hopes of having a pretty cool functioning TV card w/remote ( Last tv@nywhere didn't work). Anyhow, I got the MegaPC all put together installed all the drivers, then go to put on the MSI PVS software and I get this error:

WinDVR:
Setup failed to run installation
the remote procedure call failed.

I did everything I possibly could to get it to try and install, but it wouldn't. So I figured it was a bad CD. So I tried it with the regular TV@nywhere CD (not the MASTER version) and I got the exact same error. So I decided to swap out the tv@nywhere Master with the regular Tv@nywhere card and it did the exact same thing. Is anyone else having the same problem with this MegaPC? Please help.

The install CD is no better than the drivers. Use explorer to get to the driver folder and click on SetupDvr.exe

I tried that and got this error:

MSI PVS Driver Installation Failed.

Sorry, thought it was a driver install problem.

If it's the Master, make sure the driver is from the CD (the downloadable ones, and their patches are for the original card).

Check the postings; some have had success by deleteing everything Intervideo and then re-intalling MSIPVS.

The other method is to not use MSI's driver installation method and let windows find the drivers on the cd (browse to it).  I got similar errors and the computer would reboot, using their cd to set the contraption up.

Otherwise, just ditch the card :)

Hey Hey,
We had this issue as well -- the solution is to try unplugging the card reader or tuner (I forget which one).  For some reason, that caused a conflict, not allowing the software to install.

Hope this helps.
