How can I insert my images in this post? Everytime it says "
Sorry, you are not allowed to post external links." It doesnt matter if I uploaded it here directly in the forum or external photobucket link.

It obviously worked now so I suppose this is no matter anymore and therefor I deleted that part.

No, not really, i couldnt integrate the pictures in the post. They are only in the attachement. How can i put them in the post. And is there a way to integrate pictures from an external uploader like photobucket?

And it is not possible to modify an older post after someone responded?

Thank you, I dont know why, but know it works. Thanks.

After I got the first materials I started modding. :)

I think this UV-active Acryl looks very cool, what do you think?

The first big challenge was to cut the AcrylTube (OD 120mm) because I dont really have the right tools to cut... so the first cut failed...

I tried it by using this saw:

It worked!

After grinding it with some rough sandpaper the surface looked much better.

After that the paper got finer and finer and it began to look quite well, it's getting smooth :)

So I cutted some UV acryl...

...and glued it on the polished tubes.

I used Acryfix

finished glueing :)

After drying for 24h I milled it to be flush with the tube.

Next big challange:
How to get the tubes into each other?
With a lot of force :D

The surface wasn't nice after hammering this parts so I need to file it down.

The last step was to give the edges some radius. I also used my OF-1010 for that (by the way, nice tool :) )

In the dark or rather under UV light:

I hope you liked my first update, the next one is coming soon.

I continiued with the fan. It wasnt easy to find one which fitted into the tube.... after killing 2 fans, the third one fits. I use some BitFenix Spectre Pro without the frame.

I need to center the fan 100%, otherwise it will abrade ...

Second Tube nearly done:

I've started by disassembleing the case, that was very easy, good job BitFenix

Nearly every part is just screwed

Couse of the new hardware layout I wanted to have, I need to tranfer the motherboard tray. So I drilled out the rivets.

To put everything together again, i needed a new backplate.
I need to cut some aluminium sheets:

And marked some cutting lines

Drilled some holes for inserting the saw:

But where to mount the new backplate?
At first the old one has to go. So I take the jigsaw and removed the back of the case.

To get a nice fitting of the sidepanels I have to make some cuttings.

End of the Day: sticked everything together

That it for now

Continued at the front.
Using the jig saw again.

Bought some profiles which fit perfectly.

Front sheet

More profiles for the front:

Now I had to make a cover for the top fans.
wasnt easy to cut this mesh... destroyed some saw blades....

go on with  the front:

some wholes for the fans:

screwed it in place :)

At first I couldnt decide which design I want to choose:

A:

B:

C:

D:

Finally I choosed D. :)

Going on with the front, so I've cutted some acryl:

first side:

second:

Alu Covers:

In the dark, using Uv light.

Continued with the top. Simply cutted some acrylic stripes

To mount the motherboard I need to fix the motherboardtray.
I also had to do the mounting for the powersupply... will fit very closely...

Started with cutting an aluminium bar and drilled some threads:

mounted:

Test fit for the power supply holding:

Seems to fit well, so I cutted a whole into the backplate

Fits

After a small test fit, I continued with the first side panel.
At first I need to cut a whole into the original sidepanel:

After that, I've cutted six sheets of alu and plexi

First cut out on the sidepanel

filed it down a little bit

second layer of Uv plexiglass

test fit:

After filing it a little bit, it looks much better :)

both sidepanels will have three layers, clear plex, uv-red plexi and alu. I have to do the second panel also this way to get the same height, even if it has no window.
It was not possible to add the perforated metal plate as a fourth sheet.

I used a Dremel to cut this steel... needed a lot of cutoff wheels for doing that...

than I had to mill a rabbet.

fits pretty good

After doing that I made a cover for the interiour. I wanted to have a very clean looking inside.

Here comes the las Update before the final pics :agrees:
At first I've done the SSD holder, i tried to keep it simple :)

Cutted the first sheets for the inside of the case.

Than I go on with the mounting plate for the fans. in this pic the fans are just hold by double-faced adhesive tape. I changed it later because the fans slided down and began to hit the frame.

As shown in the upper pic, the sheets for the inside are done.

Need to see how it looks with UV light:

The most stuff was done, so I started to gring the alu panels

Because I've destroyed one of the original three frames, I need to do a new one....

first side panel done:

for the lightning I milled some channels into the plexiglas:

At first I wanted to polish every angle but the light effects were much better by just grinding them up to 320K.

Last alu part which must be done :)

the graphics card was to wide to fit well. using normal power connectors the sidepanels wouldnt fit anymore. I'be also done some extra power connectors for the ssds.

last thing which had to be done was the powerswitch. I want to hide it so I used an capacitive one build by my one (well... used a How2 :)) After testing a lot, it works very well.

Thats it. :)
next time final pics! :pompom:
