Need to upgrade my M4000M graphics card
« on: 02-March-19, 09:38:50 »

Hi:

I'm considering upgrading the M4000M based graphics card of my WT72 6QL workstation laptop (Bought 2016).

1.   Does MSI make such cards? If so, are they type a and type b MXM cards?
2.   What are the available graphics chips options I could upgrade to?
2.   Will I need to upgrade my BIOS and/or vBIOS on the card?
3.   Where can I buy them?

Thanks,
David

Hello there... I also have a WT72-6QL with Quadro M4000M, and i also want to upgrade...I already sopke in the paste with MSI support, and they told me i cant upgrade, but the true is that we could change to the M5000M GPU. To be completly "Oficial" we would need the GPU to have the MSI Bios because of the "Vendor" number in order to install proper drivers...

In my case i´m trying to find out if there is a way to upgrade this workstation to a different (better) GPU, like the P5000 Mobile, but in this case there are a lot of questions that i need to see if someone can answer about the compatibility between M and P MXM Cards with these "laptops"...If i could get my hands on a P5000 Mobile i would be wiling to try on my laptop and do all kinds of tests in order to see if it could work...
