Hi guys

I've been struggling on and off. Up until yesterday I have been using a mouse on Bluetooth Low Energy mode, and after shutdown and turning it back on the next day the bluetooth has stopped working. If I remember correctly it was identified as Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4 but I don't remember. I remember I had wasted 2-3 days getting bluetooth to work after installing Windows 10.

Now I have tried to "delete" all the qualcomm bluetooth drivers.

What's left was the Generic Bluetooth, MS Bluetooth Enum and MS Bluetooth LE Enum.

Reading some posts here (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=iptmdqm099bgmng9kmkgts1mt0&topic=258933.14) people were suggesting installing the Windows 8 Bluetooth driver (K1525 x.493) and I did that and I got Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4 Bluetooth 4.0. Under Settings>Devices>Bluetooth, no other bluetooth devices were detected.. just says "Your PC is searching for and can be discovered by Bluetooth devices."

Then I right click on the driver and clicked "Update driver" and installed K1525 x.191 Windows 10 Bluetooth driver. Now I have Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4 Bluetooth 4.1, and the two MS BT Enum and MS BT LE Enum. Still says "Your PC is searching for and can be discovered by BT devices" but nothing appears.

What is the proper way of uninstalling and reinstalling bluetooth drivers?

THe way I did it was :
1) In device manager, right click on the driver, click uninstall and check delete the driver software for this device
2) When I scan for hardware changes under Action, the Generic Bluetooth appears, I right click and click Update Driver, and point it to "Browse my computer for driver software" > "Let me pick from a list" > "Have Disk" > Browse > K1525folder>drivers>Production>win10_x64>Production>atheros_bth.inf

Is this the proper way?

Your notebook must be GT72 2QX which is shipped with 4th or 5th generation Intel CPU.
What is the version of Killer 1525 BT driver you have tried, 10.0.0.102?

Try the following step to uninstall BT driver and then reinstall it
1. Follow the FAQ to uninstall the driver from Programs and Features
https://www.msi.com/faq/notebook-2144
2. Reboot your notebook
3. Perform "Bluetooth_Install.EXE" which is included in the MSI BT driver package to install BT driver.

I've had this happen on and off

Normally I could fix it by uninstalling from Settings>System>Apps & Features> Sort By Installation Date > Qualcomm Atheros 61x4 Bluetooth Suite (64)

Then reboot

Then go to K1525 Windows 10 driver folder (downloaded from MSI website), install it, then will have my mouse (BT-LE) working again.

But this time its such a headache. I can't use the mouse. Windows 10 often loses the driver upon reboot (updated while reboot?) but this time I can't get it working at all and I'm wasting time trying to finish work but can't because this is messed up.

Can someone tell me, what is the correct procedure in installing Bluetooth_Install.EXE?

Can someone also please tell me the details of your working drivers:

Qualcomm Atherons QCA61x4 Bluetooth 4.1
Provider: Qualcomm Atheros Communications
Drive Date: 13/08/2015
Driver Version 10.0.0.128
Digital Signer : Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher

Hi,
Killer already released new driver for a long time, you can get it on Killer website:
http://www.killernetworking.com/product-support/driver-downloads/bluetooth-drivers/item/k1525-bluetooth-win10
Remove old BT driver and try this new version.

Also if you have Killer LAN/WLAN,  it is better to update them at the same time.
Uninstall old LAN/WLAN driver and update WLAN and LAN driver to latest version.
Here is how to find the settings.
Windows control panel:
Right click on Windows ""Start"" logo, click on ""Control Panel"" => Programs =>Uninstall a program, remove Killer performance suite.

Then install new Killer driver.

Hi, I have the .191 version as well, that was the one I was using previously.

Bluetooth doesn't work there either.

I finally restored to Windows 7 through a back up, and its now working with .191. Just upgraded again to Windows 10.
So far everything is working.. have set a Restore Point this time, not sure how long it will last.

You should consult MSI service center if the problem still exists.

But I would also suggest to update BIOS/EC to latest version.
https://www.msi.com/Laptop/support/GT72-2QE-Dominator-Pro-G.html#down-bios
https://www.msi.com/Laptop/support/GT72-2QE-Dominator-Pro-G.html#down-firmware

Or you should just do a clean install of WIN10 latest Aniversary version.  Not upgrade from WIN7.

I have had this very problem on my GT72VR 6RD Dominator.
Driver "Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4 Bluetooth 4.1"
Driver date: 6/8/2016
Version: 10.0.0.256

I have found no solutions to the problem. It works 99% of the time on restart, but only about 20% of the time on startup from sleep
Its like the hardware is not even plugged in. Bluetooth is gone altogether until I restart.

If anyone knows a fix, please let me know.

Best "GT72VR 6RD Dominator" FIX for now is to disable Bluetooth when not using it and I think that if MSI or Microsoft cant find a working driver by now there is a hardware problem with many of the combined Wifi and Bluetooth cards.
If we soon cant get an working driver that means MSI should replace all these faulty combined Wifi and Bluetooth cards for free without any types of charge!

The best temporary fix:
1. Under services( services.msc ) you find the service "Bluetooth Support Service"( bthserv ). Disable it.
2. Under Device Manager( devmgmt.msc ) you find the Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4 Bluetooth 4.1. Disable it

Only enable these two instances when you need to use the Bluetooth and disable it all the time you don need to use your Bluetooth. That means also disable it before your computer goes to "Sleep", "restart" or "shut down" etc.
Someone told me you can do this by making 2 simple batch scripts and run each of them to enable Bluetooth before using it and one to disable it when you don't need Bluetooth.

If the temporary fix is OK for you please say thanks by Quoting me and say thanks. But if we in the future should have hope for a working driver it is important that all of your drivers are updated so your
computer can send bugs reports to Microsoft about these buggy Wifi and Bluetooth cards:

The important drivers to update for GT72VR 6RD Dominator with Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4 Bluetooth 4.1 is as follows:

Intel Chipset driver here:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/20775/Intel-Chipset-Device-Software-INF-Update-Utility-?v=t

Killer Wifi driver here:
https://www.killernetworking.com/driver-downloads/category/other-downloads

Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4 Bluetooth 4.1 working driver here:
https://www.killernetworking.com/driver-downloads/category/bluetooth

The original BIOS should also be updatet:
https://www.msi.com/Laptop/support/GT72VR-6RD-Dominator.html#down-driver&Win10%2064

Before using the drivers mentioned above, please check your hardware(combined Wifi and Bluetooth cards) so that you know that it is correct like the user "abcdefghjk" did here:
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware/qualcomm-atheros-qca61x4-driver-issue-in-windows/e8da0651-b9a1-4b6b-b9d1-1893122baff1?page=3&auth=1

Also remember that part of the problem is that the combined Wifi and Bluetooth cards are also to sensitive to tolerate old or faulty USB although that these USB drivers are no problem for other
combined Wifi and Bluetooth cards!!:
https://www.killernetworking.com/driver-downloads/kb/faq/31-bluetooth-missing-from-device-manager

The show must go on !!!

I don't think its a problem with the Qualcom card. I bought an Intel card and the problem is exactly the same.
