MSI g43 z170 plus Audio Problem
« on: 05-May-16, 01:38:23 »

HI guys!

Hope someone can help me to fix this problem

Specs:

Monitor: LG 23mp67 (Dsub-HDMI)
MSI Z170a g43 PLUS
GSKILL 8gb ddr4 2400mhz
i5 6600k
Asus DQ II 7970
1TB SG HDD
500GB SG HDD
Intel 320 240gb SSD
Corsair GS800 PSU

My problem is that i do not have audio on front panel and at the back panel of the motherboard itself.
I already try to uninstall drivers on device manager
Reformat/Clean boot

Still the same problem,
And whenever I check the device manager, this is what I see

High definition Audio Controller
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
{Operation Failed}
The requested operation was unsuccessful.

Here's the catch!
Sometimes Realtek Audio Manager randomly shows whenever I reboot my PC.
Then after a day again there is no sound.

I can only hear sound when I plugged my headset on the audio port of my monitor itself.

I do hope someone can enlighten me regarding this.

Is it driver conflict or Motherboard issue?

Thanks!

If you click on the device, what does it say is wrong? (In device Manager)
IE: Code 10....   No driver ..

Any hardware or software changes when this started?

Try clearing the cmos?

Code 10 on the device.

Try removing the mainboard and check under the board for extra stand off's or other shorts.

Update:

I already try the suggestion to boot my mobo out in the case.
After i boot up the realtek is recognized in Device Manager.
But once i restarted it again the realtek disappears.

But here's what i noticed.
Everytime i reset CMOS realtek is recognized in my Device Manager.
But after i shutdown/restart again realtek disappears.

Is it driver or motherboard issue?
Im so lost.

I hope someone can help me.

Thanks.

Main board

I would RMA it or disable the device and install a Sound Blaster or something like that.

Quick update.

Here's what I notice also.

Whenever XMP profile is ON I dont have sound.
But once I deactivate it.
There is sound, and my realtek driver is recognized by my PC.

Is this a bug?
or Motherboard issue?

Should i still RMA my motherboard?
Thanks!

Update: I already updated the bios and activated the XMP.
But same results no sound.
So i just reset the CMOS and Whoala! Realtek is recognized again.
So i think there is a conflict when I activate the XMP.
:(
