GTX 1060 Gaming X fan problem.
« on: 24-April-17, 06:59:47 »

One of the fans on my GTX 1060 Gaming X doesn't always start spinning, it's just twitching in effort to start. This happens approximattely one-two times in ten game sessions. I read I should RMA the card, but this is a very painful process in my situation. Actually even with one fan spinning temps hardly excede 70c and the malfunction happens as I investigated only when the fan stops in some dead zones - if I spin it several millimeters clockwise it starts with no problems. My question is:  if I decide to leave things as they are, is there any risk this faulty fan breaks down completely since voltage is applied to it and it doesn't spin ???

Hi

I suggest you RMA the card, it is the only way to get it fixed.
Also can you please provide full S/N of the card?
Thanks

So what about the fan? Is it safe like this? Or will it burn eventually?

Unsure to be honest. But it does not function the way it should, so RMA is the only way to get it fixed.
