Nice to be back with MSI
« on: 28-April-17, 06:35:48 »

My first serious card was a pair of GTX460 from MSI, good cards still have them, ran them in SLI.

So today I installed an MSI GTX 1080ti replacing a GTX980 from somebody else.

As expected the card fulfilled all my expectations, a few niggles, I'm an old gamer and still can't understand why the use of LED's on cards when they are stuck in a box even with a window!

The gaming app is clever, be nicer if it read the CPU on motherboards not MSI!

And why don't I qualify for a free gift, is it because I'm in Australia? have all the stuff you want to give away although season pass to wildlands would be nice.

So nice to be back, look forward to good service from this card, sure is heavy.

they use LED's as thats the fad at the min (Mainly Everything has RGB LEDS's on them so its a fashion thing)

as the gaming app is a MSI specific program that is tuned for there products its unlikely it will read any other make of Motherboard as it would need to know what there BIOS is doing so they do not bother as its a MSI program

as for free game gifts they are done one of 2 ways! 1 is through the retailer supplying the code with the product (this one is the most common) and 2 is through registering the product with MSI (if its an internal promotion) but some countries BAN games so it would be suicide for MSI to offer it there them-self as it would open them up to legal claims so usually its only certain retailers that will give promotions.
