This is how to set your bios in order to use Virtu MVP if your motherboard is so equipped. These SS's show a Turbo OC on my z77a-gd80 with SB cpu. (See Sig) There is one mistake in the ss's in that C1E Support is disabled. (These were taken right after a bios flash/ re-working of my oc)

The Image below is of my basic memory timings. I set several to auto for this screenshot that I normally tweak. I recommend to all but the most tenacious of tweaks to only adjust the ones that I did.

These are my oc settings on a P55 board (P55-GD80) and an i7-860 resulting in 4.200Mhz which is quite extreme oc for that setup and everyday use.

Hi,
Make please screenshots of overlocking of the i7-4930k processor on the MSI x79a-gd45 plus motherboard to 4,5-4,6GHz

It is very necessary for me. Anywhere I can't find the instruction in the Internet how to accelerate this processor.

Thanks.

Don't have your particular X79, but there are similar BIOS configuration settings. First, the CPU has to be capable of the speeds you seek. There is a vast variation in them. Disable Spread Spectrum, EuP 2013, and Overspeed Protection. Set VDroop to 100% (or high). Leave CPU V. and CPU Ratio on Auto and set the Core Ratios in CPU Features for initial testing all to 43X. See if it POSTs and boots the OS. Set the power limits higher and durations longer. Set Turbo and Advanced Turbo to enabled. I like to keep the power saving features, so EIST and C1E are enabled. C-State disabled. PLL V. can help when set to 1.82v's - 1.84v's. Don't do anything with RAM until the CPU OC'ing is completed and stable. Keep the RAM at it's default speed during the CPU OC process. For more details, please open a new thread listing all of your systems components and description especially on the PSU and RAM.

Thank you Sea Dog,

I'm not good in technical terms that you have written. I'm afraid to burn things. Therefore I'd like to see screenshots.

I follow your advice and will open a new topic.

They're outdated(2012), and probably been removed by the hosting services.

That is not to be discussed here. We can't do anything about what people keep on their image file hosters.

  • Got a good OC even with Z170A PC MATE
« Reply #19 on: 09-February-17, 09:15:53 »

I have gotten a pretty good OC on my Z170A PC MATE with a 6700K.
The temps also stay in a decent range even though I only have a Freezer fan heat sink.
I don't game, but the OC really boosts Hyper-V virtual machines, to the point where they are faster than the host.(VMs run mostly in memory and with the overclock latency is way down, but having them on an SSD also helps a lot:) )
