Dead pixel warranty?
« on: 25-May-18, 00:20:41 »

Hi!

I'm looking to buy an Optix MAG27CQ, but I wanted to make sure I know the facts first.

While I found the information I need here: https://www.msi.com/page/warranty

I'm not sure I understood what I just read :bonk:

"MSI Monitor do not have 0 pixel defect warranty" - This is what confuses me the most. Is it them saying that they can't guarantee there won't be any dead pixels?

"DOT Policy : Bright Dot > 3 Dots, Bright dot gap < L >=15mm, Dark Dot > 5 Dots"  - The minimum count for "bright" dead pixels should be 4, while "dark" is 6 for it to qualify for warranty?

The point is, I don't really want to invest on a new monitor if I can't get a replacement even if there's just one dead pixel.

Thanks in advance!

Its because companies nowadays like to cut cost on after sales services.  They believe that it is not that disturbing to have a few number of tiny subpixels or pixels going dark or bright permanently against millions of them. So yeah, cost cutting in production quality assurance and after sales support regarding this issue is what drives these anti-pixel-perfect quality production.
