Hi,

I have a Cubi N with a 2.5" SDD installed thanks to the additional bottom included in the box (which expands the unit).

I have now acquired a Cubi N 8 GL and, to my surprise, the second bottom is not included in the box and it seems that is not available. The specifications say that a 2.5" SDD can be installed, does anyone knows how to do that? The manual doesn't help at all.

Thanks.

Please refer attachemnt for installing 2.5" HDD.
If no back cover of 2.5" HDD, please contact your nearest MSI branch office or local distributors for service to buy it.
You can find contact info with below link:

I've also got a Cubi N Celeron 4GB with a 32GB SSD and would like to put in a larger SSD.
The extended bottom was not included in the box for me either.

Not sure what to do.

Shall one purchase a M.2 SSD instead?

Way1: Please install mSATA SSD.
It is specification for Cubi N on MSI website.
1 x mSATA SSD
1 x 2.5" SATA HDD (with extension bay)
https://www.msi.com/Desktop/Cubi-N/Specification

It is recommend list for Cubi N on MSI website and please click "Recommend" first.

Way2: Please contact MSI RMA for service to buy extended bottom for installing 2.5" SATA HDD.

Hello,

I find it quite deceptive to market the possibility to use a HDD via the specifications just to not get the extension bay provided with previous versions of the same product!
And then to be told to contact a local distributor to buy the parts separately! (yeah, of course he's gonna have this particular piece of hardware on hands!, I've searched quite extensively for a part number for this extension bay and cable or a way to buy it on the web, only to find nothing of the sort....

You have now created a dissatisfied customer with a very bad impression of your brand.

Update :
Lo and behold, no MSI distributor around me (Paris, France) has heard of the missing extension bay, nor can they find a reference to order it... Trying to find an equivalent to the never to be found power+data SATA cable is a whole other can of worms!

Using false advertising (says "one design to fit two storage options' on the box!) to lure customers in is a sad way to do business.
