Yes, for a GTX 10 you will need latest bios 5.4:

Follow the below:

A.) Download the >>linked archive (!)<< and place it on your desktop. Do not decompress.
B.) Download and install the >>MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<<
C.) Insert your FAT32 formatted usb stick.
D.) Make sure the legacy USB is enabled.
E.) Start the forum flash tool and select option 1. Then point the tool at the compressed archive we downloaded earlier. Then to your USB Flash Drive.
F.) Boot to the USB and follow the directions. MEMTEST is included with the forum flash tool and it is recommended to run this prior to any flash.

Thank you for the guidance. But i have never done a bios update before the way you decribed it. But i will try. I am wondering if the LIVE UPDATE 6 bios update is enough or do i have to do it the way you gave me?

NEVER use Live Update to update a bios. Bios updates under Windows are taking the risk to the max. You can try other methods if you like however flashing an ME8 bios on a 6 series board can quite easiely go wrong with other methods.

The tool creates the bootable stick. It needs to be simply formatted. The tool could even do that (fix my usb key) if needed.

To enter bios press del key.

Don't worry about it. It is enabled by default. If you don't know it you haven't changed it.

You are most likely using Windows 10 1809. It causes this issue therefor it worked on your notebook. Well done! :pompom:

Hi again Flobelix!

I just received my new GPU today. A ASUS GTX 1060 6GB. i tried to connect it to my computer but it does not display any image. as you know i already updated the BIOS to the latest version 5.4.
Do you know what it could be ?

My pc specs:

          Windows 10  64bit

  • Corsair TX 650W PSU
  • MSI P67A-G45 B3, Socket-1155
  • Intel Core i7-2600 Processor
  • Corsair H40 Hydro Series CPU Kjøler
  • Kingston ValueR. DDR3 1333MHz 8GB, CL9

  • Corsair Value S DDR3 1333MHz 8GB

  • ZOTAC GeForce GTX 570 1280MB PhysX CUDA
  • Corsair SSD Force Series 3, 90GB 2.5"
  • Seagate Barracuda® 7200.12 1TB
  • Sony DVD Writer, AD-5280S

I would also like to mention that i tried to connect my two monitors with 2 HDMI cables. because i dont have a DVI-D (dual link) cable i can connect it with. could this be the problem ?

I dont know if this is relevant but I also checked my Intel Management Engine and it says  driver version 11.0.0.1157.

The fans on the ASUS gtx 1060 6gb does not spin when i turn the pc on either, but there is 1 power indicator that turns on when i connect the power cable to the gpu.  just trying to give as much info as i can

If the fans won't spin on starting the pc the card is very most likely bad. The bios works fine with a GTX 1060. Problem is with the card contact ASUS about it.

Just a quick question before i contact the store. Do i need to uninstall the driver for the old gpu when i put in the new one? Could this also be a reason for the new gpu to not work?

The issue appears before windows starts. Therefor there is no possiblity it could be a driver issue.
