Does WE73 support storage expansions?
« on: 02-January-19, 02:46:24 »

Hi,

I am choosing a mobile workstation and WE73 is one of the candidates. However, the product specifications don't say if the storage in WE73 is expandable:

1. How many M.2 slots are there? Is there only one, or are there more? I'd like to set up a dual-boot WIn10+Linux system, preferably with each on their own disk - so if possible, I'd like to add a separate M.2/NVMe drive for Linux.

2. Are there any bays for 2.5" drives? (I have a 2TB SSD that only worked for a couple of months in my previous workstation (which has now died) - so I'd like to put that SSD to use in the new machine.

Best regards,
Alexey.

For WE73 8SK, there are 2 nvme slots :
1 for nvme pcie gen3 and another 1 nvme/ sata combo,
you may double check the spec with link below, https://www.msi.com/Workstation/WE73-8SK/Specification
;-));-))

Ah, thanks. It also shows the WE73 having one 2.5" HDD bay. I didn't see that because the US version of MSI website did not link to such detailed specifications; instead it shows a side-by-side comparison of all WE73 models:

https://us.msi.com/Workstation/WE73/Specification

That table only lists what comes pre-installed - i.e. "512GB PCIe Gen3 NVMe SSD".
