Need a guide/settings to overclock my 9700k

i want to overclock my cpu to 5.0 ghz i have the msi z390 a motherboard with a AIO cooler can anyone give me the settings i need? also adaptive always seem to crash for me.

Please list the complete specs for your system.

And what settings have you set in the BIOS to OC to 5GHz?

i7 9700k corsair 16gb ram 3000mhz msi 1080 ti msi z390 a PRO samsung ssd 850 pro 512gb seasonic 850w gold fractal design celsius s24 240mm and as of now im doing stock speeds

You can lower the Voltage. You need to check for WHEA errors in the Event Viewer, if WHEA errors are logged you need to increase the voltage. Also take note of your current ambient room temperature, an overclock that appears to be stable can be unstable when the ambient room temperature increases.

wierd when i use your settings and try to change volt it stays the some even if i go down to 1.2 it still stays at 1.336
