Hi

There is no "best settings" for overclock. You have to find stable frequency and voltages that work fine with your CPU. One 9900k will perform better or worse than the other 9900k.

Hi,

Please list the complete specs of your system.

What are specific settings that have you tried for the 5GHz OC?

Hi,

You can try these settings for 5GHz OC:

CPU Ratio Apply Mode: All Core
CPU Ratio: 50
CPU Ratio Mode: Dynamic Mode
CPU Ratio Offset When Running AVX: -2
Ring Ratio: 47
EIST: Enabled
Enhanced Turbo: Disabled
DigitALL Power: CPU Load Line Calibration Control: Mode 3
DigitALL Power: CPU Over Current Protection: 140%
CPU Core Voltage Mode: Adaptive
CPU Core Voltage: 1.330V
Intel C-state: Disabled
Long Duration Power Limit: 300
Long Duration Maintained: 128
Short Duration Power Limit: 300
CPU Current Limit: 250

Please take a screenshot while running Cinebench with CPU-Z open.
https://www.cpuid.com/downloads/cpu-z/cpu-z_1.87-en.zip
https://www.maxon.net/en/products/cinebench/

Please take a fullscreen screenshot of HWiNFO64 Sensors after running Cinebench.

Your HWiNFO screenshot is not showing all the sensor readings.

Please reset HWiNFO to see if it will show all the sensor readings.

Ok, from what I can see it looks good. The "Maximum" sensors values are not visible in the screenshot, please move it to the left.

Please change these two settings and run Cinebench again:

DigitALL Power: CPU Load Line Calibration Control: Mode 4
CPU Core Voltage: 1.320V

It looks very good. The core temps are also now much lower.

Please download the latest Prime95 here:
https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/prime95-download.html

Open HWiNFO Sensors then run Prime95 for 10 minutes using the same settings as per the attached screenshot.  If any WHEA errors are logged in HWiNFO or any worker threads fail in Prime95, Stop the test immediately. Then take a screenshot of HWiNFO and post back here.

Ok set  CPU Core Voltage: 1.355V. If it still gives a WHEA error raise the CPU Core Voltage to 1.360V.

You now have to start lowering the CPU Core Voltage by  -0.005V each time Prime95 can run for 10 minutes without any errors. The instant you start getting any errors again raise the CPU Core Voltage with 0.015V. Then run Prime95 for an hour to be sure the OC is stable.

Set the CPU Core Voltage to 1.355V, then run Prime95 for 10 minutes. If still no errors, lower the CPU Core Voltage to 1.350V, then run Prim95 again for 10 minutes...............-0.005V each time.

Your CPU temps are close to 90°C and the liquid temp is almost 38°C.

What is the make and model of your PC case?

To rule out that the errors are caused due to a cooling issue, please remove the case front intake panel and dust filter then run the test again.

No, it won't.  The temperature results of your last test are very good.

You need to consider upgrading your PC case to one that allows for proper air flow even when all panels are fitted. Or if you are up to it you can even mod your PC case to improve the air flow.

What is make & model of your PC case?

It does give better performance. I using six Corsair ML120 Pro fans and three shrouds with my Corsair H150i, I have also optimized all the fans to improve air pressure.

Results may vary depending on type of radiator and fans used.

Your temps looks good.

It is hard to determine if processor will degrade and when it will fail. It can last for 3 years+ or it can fail tomorrow.

MSI changed the available options with the new motherboards. Your CPU is not throttling with your current overclock settings.
