Fun games?
« on: 29-August-15, 06:05:40 »

So, my PC gaming has dropped to almost nothing. I hardly even boot up my laptop (GT70 0NE) or my desktop (MSI Z97 SLI Plus with a 780Ti) outside of paying bills or doing some CAD work for my 3D printing that I do.

That's a problem. I miss playing video games, killing fictional things, and generally just having fun.

I realized that I haven't seen any decent games to play anymore.

I used to play Super Monday Night Combat a ton (~1500 hours played since it was added on Steam, probably a good 500 or so before it was on Steam).
I enjoyed the Bioshock series, as well as Fallout. Really loved Killing Floor, but it looks like KF2 has lost it's momentum and the dev is doing poor finishing the game.

I haven't found a game like SMNC to play again. Kind of tired of re-playing Fallout and Bioshock. And I want something new.

I'm not a fan of the CoD (regurgitated crap) series. I did absolutely love the Wolfenstein games, and their most recent one was very good.
I'm waiting impatiently for Fallout 4 and Doom 4 obviously, but those are a few months out yet.

Got anything in mind out there? What game are you currently obsessed with?

Hey Buddy!

You dont like CoD series? Me neither, but I love this single one: CoD4 :) The only FPS game I found that requires actual skill, and levels does not matter like in most other FPS games (like Battlefield or newer CoD).
You might want to take a look at Dying Light, PayDay2, these got my 100% recommendation.
Wolfenstein is well known to you I guess. Killing Floor 2 seems interesting, but first part didn't appeal to me.
Question is: you look for more of RPG, FPS games or something else?

Most fun is with Worms ;D But to be fair, GTA V online is fairly good. Still not sure if you would prefer online games or single player, as for example PayDay 2 should be played with friends as single is just boring (just like Left4Dead or CoD4). Will send you my SteamID over later on, maybe we have some games in common so we could play

SMNC was a great game. 3rd person shooter with a dash of LoL/DOTA added in. I absolutely loved it. The dev's were idiots though, sadly.

Maybe CS:GO (Counter Strike Global Offensive) is a good game. It's only a little bit animated

Just hang in there. Just two more weeks for Fallout 4!

If you want to keep looking for fun games to play, you may want to look into new gernes. For example, if you want you can look for metroidvania type games that give you a lot of exploration and fun. The last one that I saw which you may want to take a look was Ori And The Blind Forest.

pre-ordered via greenmangaming.com using a code, got the game and the season pass for $70USD.....instead of $90USD.....well worth it with the current coupon code. Get it there, and now if you want it. I think the code ends tonight or tomorrow.

Have you tried Guild Wars 2, Wild Star, Scarlet Blade, or a new one out in beta called Blade and Soul?

Wasn't really a huge fan of GW2 at all, or anything from the GW series.

Haven't heard of Wild Star or Scarlet Blade so I'll look into those, same with Blade and Soul.

So wild star uses the same mechanics from gw2 but looks so dannm unique.. It's refreshing at first but then when you don't have friends to play with you get bored fast. Try it if you wanna try mmos again.
I retired gw2 recently and they seem to have added a lot of stuff.. Getting back into that. Maybe...

If you play with friends the funniest game is garry's mod, dayz and payday are also interesting.
If you want single player you should try saints row the third - IV - Gat out of hell.
Enjoy the game ; D

Hang in there buddy, there are some amazing titles coming out. I have really Enjoyed Guild Wars 2 lately especially with the expansion that was just released. The New expansion for Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic has given it that Bioware RPG feeling again that was lost in transition along the games path. Fallout 4 is just a week away so hang in there.

I gave up on KOTOR a long while ago. I played it right when it was released, and then gave up on it because it was kinda boring and cruddy IMHO.

But yeah, another week for FO4 and then I'll be engrossed in gaming again.

Why don't you try playing Team fortress 2? It's free to play on steam.

Hey Darkhawk. There is a new game that is gaining so much praise that is unreal. You may want to try it. It is called Undertale.

It is really a unique and great experience.

There are a lot of RPG web-browser games. I am playing mine on https://sites.google.com/site/allfunblockedgames/ at the moment for me it is the best option, and it is taking less time than a simple RPG game. I am working a lot, and I just have about 20-30 minutes of relaxing, without taking in consideration lunchtime. It may be good a good option for you since you are saying that your devices are broken and you can't play any games.
