GS60 Keyboard keysection not responding
« on: 14-March-19, 08:34:45 »

The keyboard on my GS60 2PE Ghost Pro laptop has partially failed.

Basically the block of keys T-P, G-Enter, V-/ (but the B still works) Left shift does not but right shift does

Through heat from the internals there is a bulge on the keyboard  where the chassis expanded a bit, but this is actually centered around the S key

Just wondering if there are any tips to rectify this problem before i start dismantling, or buy a new laptop.. a usb keyboard is not really an option for a laptop.. maybe some stupid key command/software update? although this should never affect the enter key..

Most probably your battery swelled, possibly damaged the KB, to confirm this, open it up and take a look.
Don't keep your notebook in a house or any place that a fire could cause a loss of property or life.
Replacement battery's and KB are available at may places, here is AliEx:

Its tough to tell if the KB is damaged, the swollen battery may have put undue pressure on it and it might correct itself by removing the failed battery.

You have a 3 LiPo cells battery pack.

Agree with @pennkning.
Guess your Li-Polymer battery was inflated which compress the cable for the keyboard.

But maybe you can try to remove the battery first then check whether the keyboard work normally. If still not, maybe the cable was broken by compressing.
