Msi z68a g45 (b3) bios flash issues
« on: 25-April-19, 01:15:41 »

Mobo is MS-7550 2.0
Bios is E7750IMS v10. 3

I recently got this board for a i7-3770 that I had. It obviously doesn't work due to the the bios version not supporting Ivy bridge and it also doesn't work for my rx 590... Duh...

I have tried the MSIHQ USB Flashing tool many times using option 1 and I get the 3 options when I boot by usb. When I go through the process it says that the flash was completed  however when I shutdown, restart cmos, and start it back up again, it's still at 10.3.  Also tried going by the bios file but read somewhere that trying to go from 10.3 to the latest 13.x just doesn't work going by bios file.  I also don't have any boot sector protection enabled and my legacy USB is enabled. Used fat32 16gb kingston USB flash drive

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Apologies for the self-bump.

I said the mobo was MS-7550 2.0 but it is in fact MS7750 v2.0...my mistake.

to switch between BIOS bases, [10.xx => 13.xx]
you need a special prepared archive with valcheck.com for MSIHQ Tool

you can find such here, along with latest BIOS[.D31] for this board

OK that makes sense. I'll give that a try today when I get home and let you know how it goes

Thanks!
