DVI output does not work
« on: 27-April-19, 14:30:29 »

I have bought the motherboard Z390-A PRO and have installed it successfully. Everything works fine, but the DVI output does not send signal to monitor. I have tested with other cables, another monitor and the problem still happens. Please see the photos. I need help.
Thank you in advance.

Hello,
You do not tell us your configuration. It is required to be able to help.
In waiting, know that the mobo's video ports are actives only if the used CPU has a built'in GPU: recent mobos has not a GPU chipset. A lot of CPU compatibles with this mobo has not:

(screen copy of >>Z390-A-PRO#support-cpu<<).

1/ If you have a such CPU, you need to add a graphic card (see >>Z390-A-PRO#support-vga<<) in PCI_E1 and to connect the monitor (not a TV) to it.

2/ If you have a CPU with a built'in CPU and want to connect more that 1 monitor on the back panel, you must enter in bios setup and enable "SETTINGS \ Advanced \ Integrated Graphics Configuration \ IGD Multi-Monitor" (by default, it is disabled). See >>Manual<< p.49.

Hoping it shall help,
:hat tip:

Hello,

My CPU is a i5 9600K that has a GPU UHD Intel® 630. I have enabled the IGD Multi-Monitor option with no success. What else can I try?

    Thank you!

Hello,
1/ Have you display if you are using only the DVI-D port?
2/ Apparently, you are using a VGA to DVI-D adapter. To test, find a monitor with a DVI-D or a DisplayPort input so that you can connect it without any adapter. Result?
Have a good day,

that adapter you have looks like the generic type that is a pin to pin connection that just reroutes the old style DVI-D pins that where used to carry a Analogue signal to the VGA connector but that DVI-D on the motherboard is digital only so to do what your trying you need a Active DVI-D to VGA Adapter that has a Digital to analogue converter in it. or like rbleroy91 said use a direct DVI-D-DVI-D Cable.

Hello,

Yes, success. I bought a true dvi-d to dvi-d cable and a monitor with dvi-d input and it worked.

   Thank you!
