Dragon Center and Mystic Lighting
« on: 24-May-19, 04:51:25 »

I have seen a few different places that this is a common issue, but i was just wondering if anyone has actually figured out a solution to the problem.  I have a B450 Tomahawk and I am trying to use the Mystic Lighting inside Dragon Center to control the RGB of my board, ram, and gpu. Well, when dragon center actually decides to load up (which is not always the case) any time i try to install the drive for the Mystic Lighting portion on Dragon Center the installer just spins and spins.  I have let it go for substantial lengths of time hoping that it will finish, but it never does.  I have uninstalled Dragon Center and reinstalled it, that did not fix the problem.  Any help would be great, thanks

Hi, I have a B450 Tomahawk too.

I think you are downloading the wrong program. You need to download just Mystic Light not the Dragon Center one as it is not intended for this board. The motherboard compatible types are listed on the download page.

Hope this helps.

This does help, but I've gone that route too and it doesn't recognize my gpu(msi 1660). Any idea why this might be? Or how to fix? Thanks

Hi,

What GPU do you use exactly?

Which version of GPU driver have you installed?

Which version of Mystic Light 3 or Dragon Center have you installed?

I have the MSI 1660 Gaming X 6GB and I think I have the latest drivers for it installed, if its a specific driver issue I can take a closer look when I am next on it.  And as for version of Mystic Lighting 3, Im not sure on that either.  I went to the MSI page and downloaded through this ( http://msi.gm/mystic-light-app-download )  just chose the one compatible with my version of mobo (B450) and downloaded the pc version, obviously.  I'm reading that possibly the 1660 is only able to be controlled through the dragon center app, which is a let down as mystic lighting through dragon center does not appear to work on my mobo.  Maybe you have a good answer for my problems? :)

Hi,

I suggest that you uninstall Dragon Center in safe mode. Then download and Dragon Center 1.0.0.45.
The Mystic Light within Dragon Center should be compatible with B450 Tomahawk.
Just note that the B450 Tomahawk is not fully supported by Dragon Center.

Hi,

Try to download and install Dragon Center 1.0.0.48.

Hopefully, this time it works.

Unfortunately it did not.  When I go to install the mystic lighting within Dragon Center it just continues to spin and spin without ever actually installing.  I appreciate the follow up though.

Have you tried to download it yet?

I have not, I will give it a go once I get home.  I did take a peak at the Mystic Lighting page and noticed that it said compatible with 16 series cards now (not sure if it said that before or not) so I do have a small bit of hope that this may be the update that gets it done!

I went to Dragon Center and installed the latest version of Mystic lighting and as soon as it hits 100% on the install the "Dragon Center updating" screen pops up and then just continues to spin.  Same issue I have continued to have.  Not really sure what the issue is or what i can do at this point.

Did you have happened to install any other software/program in you OS that may cause this issue?

lastly is to have clean installation of windows to try.

I am unsure on the windows 10 version, I bought this PC through NZXT so they installed my OS.  And I do not believe there should be anything else installed that would cause this issue, but also with that being said I wouldnt really know what other programs would cause this problem.  Sorry I know Im not a ton of help, still new too the PC world and getting my feet wet.

if you just want to play around the LED lights, how about trying to remove the dragon center and just try
mystic light and see if it will work?

after double checking the MSI mystic light landing page, it seems that only dragon center can support Nvidia 1660.

For windows version, just type the word "winver" in the search bar and it will pop out the windows version box.

the only difference in my windows version compared to the picture you posted is the last 3 numbers, otherwise it looks identical.
