I figured out a weird issue with downloading new Nvidia drivers

When i download a new driver from the G-Force Experience the old drivers come back, and when i use DDU to stop those drivers from automatically downloading. The new driver dose not work well with my Oculus rift s and cause's it to have a black screen. The only solution i found was not to update the drivers, but i want them updated, at least to the point where i can play no man sky in VR

I tried installing different drivers and still got the same exact issue.

I have been working with people in the oculus form to try and fix the issue and they say its because of the MSI computer

Do you guys have any suggestions for me in what i can do?

My Laptop specs are a Intell 8 GEN CORE i7-8750H
Nividia GEFORCE GTX 1060
6GB GDDR5
16GB DDR4 - 2666MHz
256GB SSD + 1 TB HHD

And its a GS63 Stealth, "VR Ready"

Any help will be great thanks

I read the post over at https://forums.oculusvr.com/community/discussion/comment/702702#Comment_702702 ... apparently your missing the point here.
ORs only works works with 'Official MSI/Nvidia Driver', and that is the one you automatically DL when doing a clean install, and that is available at MSI:
https://www.msi.com/Laptop/support/GS63-Stealth-8RE#down-driver
There is NO reason that ORs shouldn't work with a bit older Nvidia drivers, and as such OR is not making their software backwards compatible with anything other than current video software and drivers.
This is OR, not Nvidia....Poorly written software, most probably there hiring part time code writes in their 2nd or 3rd year, so they can pay then waaay less.
NMS works with older and current Nvidia drivers ....
So there's your answer.

The thing is, MSI only offers a old driver that i already have. i want to use a new version without any problems.

Please see my post at https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=323911.0

I believe you will need a new GPU Bios. I have an MSI GS65 with GTX1060 6Gb and a bios flash fixed this problem for me.

I have an MSI GS65 with the same GTX1060 as OP. I fixed my issue with a GPU bios update.
There's the real answer.
